Happy Harpur College day! My favorite Dead show, when push comes to shove, and one that I’ve listened to on its anniversary now 5 years in a row. Give it a spin tonight, enjoy a beautiful early summer day. I think I smell gunpowder…

The photos in the stereogum article bout these shows tell me I absolutely made the right decision doing this blatant capitalism

I have convinced the better half to go to south suburban far away Frankfort next Saturday afternoon for their free bluegrass festival, which includes A J Lee w/ Molly Tuttle's younger brother, singer songwriter Jim Lauderdale, and for purposes of this particular thread, Grateful Dead associate (he was in Old and in the Way with David Grisman and Jerry, and also wrote for New Riders of the Purple Sage like Robert Hunter did) Peter Rowan. Rowan had been at taste of Chicago 3 decades ago on a lineup w/ Ricky Skaggs and the now late Bill Monroe, but he's now 82, so it's probably time to see him again.
Is this show in anyone else's wheelhouse?

Is this show in anyone else's wheelhouse? the logistics of this coupled w/ the expected very hot weather this weekend have led us to nix driving out to Frankfort for this. Instead, we'll probably hit the Square Roots festival Saturday and Sunday evening.

I dreamed last night that we went to see bob weir in concert (had to describe him as the guy with big white hair/stache) but it also was the olympics and connie britton sat in front of us.

Went last night and going the next two as well. I think I can honestly say that it’s one of if not the best overall concert experience I’ve ever witnessed!

Was that Eyes of the World really a half hour long?

I believe it, a 15 song setlist is short by Dead & Co standards. There must have been a whole lot of noodlin' going on.

It was a very jammy set last night. Eyes of the World was a very long ripper! Johnny and Jeff were vibing hardcore.
