Another thing my wife and I did was to take a motorcycle tour around Paris - that was absolutely incredible. Midway point you get a glass of champagne in front of the Eiffel Tower.

I am going to France with my newlywed wife for my honeymoon. Have a decent amount planned, but doesn't hurt to see if anyone knows more than me. We're flying into Paris and arriving Saturday August 26th in the afternoon. Spending Saturday in the city before heading to Rock en Seine for the evening. The next day we have lunch plans on a boat tour on the Seine and dinner plans already but that's it. Then we're taking a train down to Nice the next afternoon, which will be our home base until we fly out. We have dinner plans and plans to drink at La Plage in Nice that Monday but that's it. Tuesday we'll be going to Eze where so far for this day I only made dinner reservations. Wednesday we'll be going to Saint Jean Cap Ferrat for a day trip to hiki but no other plans for the day really. Thursday we're taking a day trip to Monaco where the only plan is to drink wine so far lol. Next day we'll be taking a morning train to go back to Paris where we don't have any plans yet. We'll be leaving the next morning on Saturday back home. If you have any recommendations for any days/nights we don't have plans they'd be greatly appreciated. I have a spreadsheet with different ideas I've gathered so far but figured I'd ask here before just picking one of those. Pastries: Du Pain et Des Idees. I don't know if you've been to Paris before, but my favorite neighborhood is Montmartre (the neighborhood of Amelie). There's a restaurant there that is pretty cute and charming called Le Bon Bock. The prices and portions are really pretty reasonable. You can get absinthe. It's supposedly the oldest restaurant in Montmartre. If you're not in Paris for long, I'd at least recommend checking out the neighborhood as there's lots of cool stuff to see there while you're just walking around. Le Moulin Rouge is also very close by--literally a 10 minute walk from the restaurant--if you want to go there for a show.

toddler's stayin with grandma for the weekend, which is almost a shame because she'd be delighted to see some goats on a roof.

I think it’s pie country up there… Blueberry/blackberry. Blackberry/boysenberry. Boysenberry/huckleberry. Huckleberry/raspberry. Raspberry/strawberry. Strawberry/cranberry. Peach.

Any Nashville solo dinner recommendations? Preferably somewhere with a bar and maybe a chefs menu so I dont have to think about it? Also have an extra to Childers/John Anderson/margo price etc. @ GOP if any Nashville area borders interested before I sell oshoney carligula @

Heyy sounds like the Ireland trip that was scrapped earlier this year is back on for the spring. My dad and possibly 1-2 siblings will be going w/ me - my mom doesn't want to make the trip, unfortunately.
Anyway, if anyone has tips for online travel agencies to book a hotel/transportation package around the country, let me know. My dad is going to be 80 and wants something more structured.

My dad is going to be 80 and wants something more structured. we're planning a europe trip for my dad's 80th birthday next year. he suggested kensington tours, which he's apparently used before but is a bit pricey for everyone else. for us, there are several options on viator. i don't know what's offered there for ireland, but probably worth a look.

I'll check those out, thanks. Only looked at a couple options so far - Costco has some decent packages available.
It looks like it actually may be cheaper if we do both Ireland and Scotland vs. just Ireland, which is kind of strange. It'd be kind of cool to go to Edinburgh if I had the opportunity, though.

We were hoping to go there this year, but flights were stupid expensive around early June you should look at SAS for ireland. they have a few sales each year (last one just ended last week, unfortunately) for their premium economy under $700 for chicago-dublin roundtrip. there's usually a long connection in copenhagen, but there are certainly worse places to spend a stopover.

a previously posted Spain plan turned into an Italy plan, and that's happening in two weeks
9/21- flight to London 9/22-24: London 9/24-27: Umbria, Italy (Spello base, visits to Perugia, Orvieto, Spello, Assisi, and Montefalco) 9/28: Drive through Tuscany with some stops towards Bologna, stay at Amerigo outside Bologna (1 star Michelin restaurant in the mountains that looks awesome) 9/29-10/1: Bologna, Italy with a day trip to Modena Flight home on 10/1
Pretty pumped!
edit- maybe worth mentioning this will actually be my first time visiting Europe so I'm extra excited

9/29-10/1: Bologna, Italy with a day trip to Modena check out sfoglia rina. the queue was about an hour for us, but it's also probably the freshest pasta i've had in my life. for gelato, la sorbetteria castiglione and cremeria cavour are pretty great. enjoy!

going to new orleans with a person i'd never been with was great, went to a lot of new places and did lots of new things, like crash a bachelor party for a few hours. as they sat down near us at a bar, the groom's first words were "i hate chicago," so we fought for a minute but then smoothed it over

What's good in Austin these days? I haven't been in a few years and I'm sure everything's changed. I got a seat at the bar at Uchi for the night I get in, hope that's still good.
