Romero's guitarist Adam Johnstone passed away at 32. I guess he's had cancer for the last four years. Idk if it got buzz over here, but their record from last year was a great slice of power-pop.

they apparently played the UK and the rest of Europe some, but had yet to make it to the US from Australia, and they don't even seem to have a wikipedia entry.  |

saw Mars with: the slammin' watusis (at least once, maybe twice), liquid soul (twice), psychedelic furs, dueting with wayne kramer at the justice tour, just hanging out at a holiday party given by close friends of a former colleague, and, with the waitresses once. when I saw hal russell and his nrg ensemble at lower links, I don't know if mars had yet joined the band (he did take over the ensemble after russell died). might have seen mars with vandermark or other jazz guys over the years as well.
edit: he wasn't a part of the slammin' watusis, nor the blue watusis.

Iconic action villain Joss Ackland died yesterday at 95 y/o. I still quote him randomly from Lethal Weapon 2, "Diplomatic immunity!"
No ever follows up with "has just been revoked" though.

Idk anything about her political legacy, but she was appointed by Reagan so I'll assume it's bad. But one time when I was like 11 or 12 my Mom took my sister and me to a book talk / signing with her. When it was our turn in line she asked me - in a Texas-ass drawl - "How old are you?" I was like 100% sure she said "How are you?" so I confidently replied "Good! How about you?" And she just signed the book and looked at me funny. My mom and sister still make fun of me for that to this day. And for that... I hate Sandra Day O'Connor. |

Myles Goodwyn, former lead singer of Canadian hard rock band April Wine, died today at age 75, after having retired from the band in March of this year.
April Wine played StL a lot when I lived there, but I never took a chance to see them.

He played a bunch of the fests for beatles fans, but not the one I went to in 2016.
