That's a rough one. My mom is/was obsessed so I was lucky enough to see her a few times over my lifetime. She had lost a step but was still the GOAT.
I hope I don't have to break the news to my mom. This seems like something that will be all over the news channels, though.

A good friend of mine had the privilege of playing saxophone for Ms. Franklin's band within the last 5 years. He had the opportunity to meet her and confirmed she's as sweet as you could ever imagine her being.

When my girlfriend and I went to Bonaire back in March, one of the events at the place we were staying at one night was karaoke. We dueted Aretha and George Michael's "(I Knew) You Were Waiting For Me."

Thought that the condolences from both sides of the aisle were well done. You can tell the difference between a courtesy RIP tweet and a genuine one. The guy was from a different era and time (and the bad that goes along with that), but people respected him.

McCain was an American hero and spent his life serving our country. Politics is a very hard game, he was one of very few willing to go against the party line. He was not perfect, but he should/will be remembered for all he did for this country.
