So Cardi was put in the "Pantheon of Great Rappers" after her debut album, but P4K then puts like 5 better rap albums ahead of her? lol. She's not even the best female rapper on the list too. Also they made a whole video calling Daytona an Instant Classic and barely stuck him in the top 20. I can't figure out if they even realize there's no cohesion among their takes anymore or if they just don't give a shit (I'm leaning towards the latter) |

Good list actually. Great top 5. Makes sense. Once again, shocked FJM didn't make this or the songs. And Parquet and Dacus seemed like 7.somethings that could make this. Crazy Beach House got a 9.1 then ended up #20. Beach House got an 8.9. |

it's not like its #40 on these other publications its always in the top 10 and none of them have a single other country release. Also is Pitchfork or Rolling Stone really a "rock" publication? Paste is certainly more of a "Rock" publication than either of those and they have multiple rap albums on their list. |

My point is there is not really a history of the publications putting much country on their best of lists. Usually one or two crossovers a year. And, looking at Paste, it looks like they only have 4 or 5 country albums on its list. Also, not sure why I bothered as I really don't care (or know enough about country music to keep this convo going.) rango - where can I get good kebobs in the loop?  |

Pretty decent year for music in my opinion. I’ve made my list a Greil Marcus Real Life Top Ten style list because some of the most important music listening of my year was something other than the album, but I did go longer than ten.
