This has been probably my worse year of keeping up with music since 2014 but I honestly can't think of many albums that I expect to consistently show up in the top 5 of most lists. The only one I can think of is be the cowboy.

I kept up, and when narrowing down a top 20 it was easy. After that tho? Not so much. I think last year was better for music.

I would agree.  There's a solid like top 5 or so, and then there's a large chunk of good/a little above average stuff otherwise.

Surprised people are liking this YOB album so much. For me it was the dullest of their last few albums and monotonous to the point that it bored me.

i was gonna say Cult Leader only came out last week so maybe it was too late but they managed to listen to Evoken enough times to get it in the top 5 and it also came out last week so i have no fucking idea.

I feel like I'd reshuffle the order a bit but it's an ok list. Still not a fan of these things coming out in November. Having 7 female/female featuring acts in the top 10 is nice to see too

I don't think it's including those posted today, but metacritic has a 3 way tie for best of lists - Janelle, Low, and IDLES. Not just for no. 1 but anywhere in the top 10.
