Yeah, this fest is going to make it I think.
Literally everyone who went can't stop talking about it. And now I have like 2 more friends coming this year for the first time. The other day my friend he wants to come for Day For Night this year and I said I hope the lineup is exciting again and he was like, "I don't really care that much, you sold me on the fest experience"
We're usually the people making fun of people going to fests "for the experience"

Looks like this year the same weekend would be the 15th and 16th, one day further from Christmas. I agree though, the 8th and 9th would be much better. Or honestly, even like November 17th and 18th for better chance at drier and warmer weather.

having it the week before xmas is the best because it gives me an excuse to not go back home for my extended family xmas gathering with a million children that i hate.
it's also a great reprieve from chicago winters.

I hope I can swing it again this year. I know that I am doing Christmas with the family at my sister's in Houston, which would probably require me either staying in Houston for like a week and a half to do that and DFN (which may or may not work out with my job), orrrr making two trips to Houston in the span of two weeks. Either way, I am motivated to try and go.

Just booked the Club Quarters from 12/14-17 for $95 a night. Cheap? Absolutely. Premature? Definitely. God bless cancellable bookings.

we dont even have confirmation that d4n is happening this year.
and after getting bit by open air after months of radio silence, im hesitant.
(might still book the hotel tho)

The hotels were really well priced all the way up to weeks before the fest, so I think we're okay holding off for a bit.

Just went through everything that got posted. This is depressing on so many levels. Sounds like they've (meaning D4N/Free Press/Whoever) been sitting on this news for a while given when these women signed affidavits and when a police report was filed.
So. Given all of this I can't see this happening again this year. It's a shame that one of the only unique festivals in the country will likely be buried because a scumbag couldn't keep his hands to himself.
I really, really wish I had fully jumped in to the Adult Swim fest when it was still a little cheaper.
