Anyone who is still coming (guessing not many if any besides claypoolfan) should try to stay in Montrose so you're able to walk around and explore the museums and best restaurants.

"subject to any superior liens and security interests..."
forget about it; the banks get first crack.

Oh wow:
“Let’s get real here. If I was a barista, it wouldn’t be news that I tried to kiss a girl,” Afra said Friday. “For this one fleeting moment, we were the best thing in the world, and it was great. But I think that the very fact that it grew so quickly and it became such a phenomenon is what put a target on it — and me.”

Man I'm reading through the first few pages of this thread and I used to be (maybe still am?!?) so insufferable on here.
I miss this fest, and I miss Houston a lot.

I miss this fest, and I miss Houston a lot. Yep, great city, perfect spot for the fest, great lineup each year, perfect time of year for it too. Maybe we'll be lucky and it will be resurrected like This Ain't No Picnic

The venue, the old post office, got turned into a food hall + market sort of place with a lot of renovations and just opened last month. There's also a concert venue inside of it. The food hall was pretty cool and I liked what I ate (tried 3 different places) although the place overall feels pretty empty right now so I'm hoping that changes. There's a rooftop garden which is neat. The concert venue hasn't booked an act I wanted to see yet but it's like a 5500 person theater setup with a GA floor and two balconies with seats. We really needed a venue that size in the city so it's nice. Might see Haim there in May
I also dearly miss this fest myself though. This and Fun Fun Fun Fest, we used to have such a fun music fest scene in Texas

Already have tickets to see Hayes Carll tomorrow and I'm not a Midland fan. I was considering the Willie Nelson show. Old 97s are probably up my alley but I've never actually sat down and listened, may give them a try and see if I want to do that show. And I'm half considering the DCFC show because I've never seen them but I'm only a very mild fan Willie actually opened the venue also last month but I had tickets to a different show that night, to see Parquet Courts. Would have went if I didn't have the conflict I do hope the venue is nice and I want to check it out, but it's also a LiveNation venue which is a bummer. That means lots of fees and expensive drinks and probably high parking costs
