granted we were 3 or 4 whiskey+gingers in last night, but i think Eric and I are almost definitely committing to this club quarters and AA flights look incredible reasonable rn. What AA flights are you looking at ? Cheapest round trip price I saw from Friday- Monday was $307

Hell yeah, half of the post office is pitch black dark, so there's plenty of nap spots

I remember reading on the Coachella board about pickpockets being really bad last year. Was that happening inside the actual venues?

i'd have to imagine it was almost exclusively inside because it was so dark.
(ftr i have no doubt that pick-pocketing occurred, as it does at all fests, but i'm willing to postulate that some people flat out just lost their stuff on the floor and just never found it or realized it was gone -- also because it was so fucking dark.)
there are seriously portions where you're almost walking blind or following the exhibit's lights.

One of the people I was with got her phone grabbed last year and had more than one friend who also did. It was happening a lot.

The lack of self-preservation at fests is mind-boggling. I'd really rather not trample everyone at P4k, but folks gotta have their blankets out all over the damn field.

Is Solange playing just on Friday or is she performing during the normal two day portion of the fest as well?

She's on both the Friday lineup and the regular fest lineup. So it's safe to assume both I think.

I think her Friday performance is a special thing with a couple artists performing together, can't remember where I read that though

Looks like the regular onsale is up now...
for those wondering, a regular priced 2-day pass is $240 after fees and stuff, and regular priced 3-day is $340.
A single day for Friday is $117... I think I'm just going to stick to the 2-day fest.

Yeah $117 for Earl and Kaytranada is definitely not worth it. Especially since it seems like Friday isn't open bar for everyone this year?

May try to get that Friday off work to hang with boarders. Either way I'll be around that evening at the least. Know plenty of cool bars and food spots and things now

I'm doing Uchi for happy hour that night and then will probably be drinking in Montrose all night if last year was any indication.

Flight prices on Southwest are starting to drop and I've got a $113 credit in travel funds since the cost of my Thanksgiving trip dropped. My chances of going have definitely increased!

its crazy to me that this festival costs $240 for the two days.
it's even crazier that most of you got a ticket for $100.

I'd love to organize a group dinner in Montrose Friday night. I live right in the neighborhood now.

im definitely coming in either thursday night after work or early friday to hang out all day. houston had a lot to offer and i didn't get to do nearly enough last time.
the friday thing thissy and i did last year was cool (mostly because free drinks and buffet) but the actual fest experience isn't any more special than the other days unless you're a really big fan of that day's lineup.
like, we still couldn't even get into bjork digital on friday so we really just drank and wandered. i think we were able to knock out some of the art exhibits before the lines got nasty saturday so that was nice at least.
$240 for saturday and sunday is fine imo tho
