   Awesome day at Record City, my favorite record shop in NYC - with the best jazz records, used psych and otherwise great rock selection, reasonable prices, and right down my block. Rahsaan Roland Kirk live album, Art Farmer compilation, and Keith Jarret's solo concerts - all double albums, like $10 each Edit this RRK album slaps |

I got the new Chat Pile record at the local record store this AM. They were throwing a 10th anniversary party, with lots of boxes of jazz/classical records.
They also had several Sparks records, but they were expensive. I wanted 'No.1 in Heaven' but it was $75. The guy behind the counter said a woman brought in several records by them, and they paid around $300.

$47 before shipping for non members, album recorded digitally, being pressed at error ridden factory GZ, wording indicates a normal release from other companies. That’s gonna be a pass for me lol

Can't remember the name of the store in Albany but the highlight was a $12 original Are You Experienced? (major sleeve damage but the disc is great)
Also a 2nd press of AXIS and a $10 live Willie double album that looks to be late 80s

Looks like it sold out in less than 2 minutes and putting it in your cart didn’t guarantee you a copy. A lot of people had their orders bounced while putting in their address and got charged anyways. Good system.

A guy on Facebook marketplace was advertising a huge record sale on the other side of town. Said most things were between $5 and $15. When I got there he said everything was half off the price marked. For $70 total I picked up:

Video game soundtracks, in general, are worth collecting. |

went to the Reckless in London while I was there. was reaallllly tempted to get a repress of the Cocteau Twins Heaven or Las Vegas for a reasonable price, but I was too nervous about keeping it in good shape on the trip back  |

I also finally got my turntable/speakers/receiver all hooked up, and it sounds great! I had to change the stylus and belt and thought I'd fuck it up, but I didn't.

Every 6 months or so my friend/former local store hits me up and asks if I've got stuff to trade in/stuff I've had my eye on.
