Hi Friends, So I'm finally going to take the plunge into the vinyl game. I've never owned a record player. I don't know about all the ins and outs of what I need and don't really care to learn about it, so I'm thinking of just buying a package from Turntable Lab and being done with it. My questions are: Do any of you have any opinions on whether one or more of these packages are way better than the others?And Is there somewhere local that could put something together for me like this for a similar price? Probably looking at $500 as the max of what I want to spend. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have to pay tax if I ordered from Turntable Lab, though. Again, the stipulation is that I don't want to have to think about it at all, I just want someone to set me up with a package. Thanks guys. |

I've got a Denon and it kicks ass. I need to upgrade my speakers/amp so I can't help you there, but would highly recommend the Denon. Project Carbon and Audio Technica 120 are great players too. Avoid the 60 especially for what you want to put into it.
As far as shops go, Saturday Audio Exchange on Belmont just past Sheffield is the spot. You give them a budget they'll put something fantastic together for you for the price you want and the space you wanna fill. Tell 'em Tweet sent you.*

w/e this is at Reckless but im already seeing RLYR that night with Fotocrime and Sweet Cobra. we're gonna swing by Shuga first thing for the glasses and shirts then chill at Bucket of Blood all day

the 2 or 3 places i go to in chicago all said they either have it or are receiving it today but it's a very limited supply and they won't hold it behind the counter for anyone.

there are a few things i want but i have stuff going on basically all day tomorrow in the suburbs. i might have time in the morning to run out to some suburban store that apparently exists and is a rsd store but who knows if that's worth it. it seems like things always pop up online that night and the next day so i'll probably just try my luck with that.
happy to see that the national live album is a "record store day first" release meaning it'll come out later if i don't get it.

It was corrected to $30 and anyone who paid $50 will be refunded. Also it still seems to be available. I should probably just buy it even though I don't have a player yet... |

Friend got on for me and him today.
According to the people at Shuga
Third Man 4/20 version is limited to 1000 copies.
Then there’s also 10k of the green one (the one online) and 10k in a black pressing.
