Im taking longer than expected to recover between work outs. I’m assuming this is mostly due to the shit sleep I’ve been getting, but what else could be the culprit? possibly, but also how often are you going? biggest mistake i think people make is that they try to work out every day when they first start back up and it's the easiest way to exhaust your body prematurely or get hurt because your body isnt at the point where it can recover quickly enough yet. it's usually better to start with an every other day approach until you're not tired or hurting the next day and then can ramp up to a daily routine. [/quote] I’m doing the push/pull/legs deal, 6 days a week. E: Uh, fucked that up... @wretched.

I somehow managed to do 5 miles in 57 minutes yesterday. Not super impressive but usually I only do 2 so I'm happy with that pace. Was in a weird mood where I felt like I could have kept going and wasn't feeling tired but once I hit 5 I decided to stop for the sake of my legs and the agony they might be in the next day had I kept going.
I don't know if it's related or not, but have definitely felt heightened anxiety since and had a mini panic attack yesterday like three hours later just hanging out on my couch (shortness of breath, chest tightness, feeling faint/dizzy, feeling rushes to my head, temperature changes, though my heart rate wasn't abnormal, 86 bpm) for about 20 mins so that was fun.

Last day of week 5 and I'm down 25 lbs. This is pretty unbelievable and my doctors like what they're seeing with me. I've got so much momentum right now. I'm gonna ride it out as far as I can go.

Congrats, that's a huge accomplishment. Especially in the winter months.

What did you change in diet? Congrats! I'm doing Noom. Basically, I started logging everything I consume and then, because of the low calorie budget they gave me, I upped my activity level a bit so I could earn more calories in my budget. I know it sounds ridiculous for me to say this, but it's been really, really easy. I'm not starving myself by any means. On a lot of days, I'm actually satisfied before I even meet my calorie budget. I was just telling a friend earlier that I could continue doing this forever--so thats what I'm going to do until I reach some sort of equilibrium.

Looks like the hard part is already past you (which didn't even seem that hard for you ha)! Seems like you're doing all the right stuff. Are you just worrying about being on a caloric deficit, or does the program also take into account like which things to buy organic? Stay away from soy, dairy, etc? Just curious!

Are you just worrying about being on a caloric deficit, or does the program also take into account like which things to buy organic? Stay away from soy, dairy, etc? Just curious! Well, I stopped taking any insulin with my meals weeks ago, and we've drastically reduced the amount of insulin I take at night. My endocrinologist is looking at taking me off insulin entirely, which I'm guessing he'll do at my next appointment. My A1C (average measure of blood sugar over the past 2 or 3 months) was almost completely normal when it was taken at my last appointment--but that was only after doing Noom for about 3 weeks. I don't have any doubt that it will be completely within normal range at my next appointment as my blood sugar has been on the low side of normal every time I've checked it (3 times a day) every day while I've been doing this. Maybe my only worry is what it's going to be like when I totally change medications, but I think I'll be fine. The program does try to get you to fill your daily budget with better foods, but there really aren't any restrictions in terms of what you can eat. It's just easier to do if you learn to fill your budget with the right kinds of foods.

How well do you sleep? Noom brought something kind of scary today.

Last day of week 7. 31 pounds.
I took a pair of jeans to the tailor yesterday because they're too long and I can't go on wearing my current pair because they're just too huge now. The pair being hemmed is cool. Love the brand. Organic denim. The label is great: it reads size 32.

On Monday, the organizers of the Tokyo Marathon announced that this year’s race will only feature elite athletes, due to concerns about the outbreak of the coronavirus strain known as COVID-19. “We cannot continue to launch the event within the scale we originally anticipated,” a statement on the race website reads.
So instead of 38k runners, there'll be about 200 competing. That's nuts.

First day of week 10, and I've hit the goal I set when I started Noom on January 2. I'm down 37 pounds.
So I totally shaved off all my facial hair.
It's a little weird and I'm not sure I like it.
I'm think I'm gonna go for another 15 pounds.

Apparently there's an upside to eating more organic stuff and less 7-Eleven food?

Another milestone, people: 50 pounds. Since January 2.
In another 10, I will no longer be considered clinically obese. That's gonna be wild because I haven't been in that kind of shape since literally first or second grade.

I just took the Noom quiz one day while waiting for my food at Cheesecake Factory (LOL I had a crazy New Year's Eve) because I simply wanted to see what the program was like. I figured I'd try it for a few days. When I said in the Emperor's New Clothes thread that I legitimately needed new clothes, I was totally serious about that. Major wardrobe upheaval taking place.

I've already got things from even two or three weeks ago that are loose on me now. I've gone through several pairs of pants and jeans through this, but at least those were mostly all old things that I had hoarded. I'm at the point now, though, where I don't think I can or will get much smaller. I've already gone from an extra large to a medium in shirts. I'll need a body lift if I get any smaller than that.

Good luck! It was pretty easy for me once I figured out the kinds of stuff that I liked to eat and that would allow me to stay within my budget. From there, all it has taken for me is patience and discipline.
