Watch the Vikings actually be a better team with Keenum/Bradford versus Cousins. I'd laugh.

Watch the Vikings actually be a better team with Keenum/Bradford versus Cousins. I'd laugh. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Like the Bears signings today. Jordy getting cut from the Pack was a big surprise. Rodgers probably ain't gonna be happy about that

I don't know the NFL's salary cap structure as well as I know the NBA's so take this with a grain of salt, but I really like what the Bears have been doing. They seems to be doing everything possible to give Trubisky a chance to succeed by adding weapons in Burton, Robinson and Gabriel (and they'll get Meredith back too). Chase Daniel is a really nice backup QB too, should help teach Trubisky the offense and can actually help out in a pinch (unlike Glennon).

Never heard of Chase Daniel before just now. Robinson has great skills; just hope he can remain healthy.
Jordy is pretty much shot. Wouldn't be surprised if he retired; I wouldn't expect him to do well with a new QB at this age.

It's gotta be weird for guys like Brady, Rodgers and Brees to keep churning through a new group of receivers every 3 or 4 years. It feels like forever ago that these guys were throwing to Troy Brown, Donald Driver and Devery Henderson. Rodgers is basically working with his third generation of receivers now, while Brady/Brees are on their 4th or 5th and probably feel like they're playing catch with their kids at this point.

Kyle Fuller is now the fifth highest paid corner in the NFL somehow.

Just saw a headline that the Bears are not matching an offer made to Cameron Meredith, so he'll be playing for the Saints next season.

Just saw a headline that the Bears are not matching an offer made to Cameron Meredith, so he'll be playing for the Saints next season. He had a good season two years ago, but who knows how he’ll be after that ACL surgery? Plus, slot receivers are kind of a dime a dozen so there’s no reason to overspend on him. Good on him for getting paid though.

So most Cowboys fans seem super pissed about this Dez release but I was kind of pushing for it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ he really disappointed me last year. I'll never forget the game he was pouting on the sideline having not been thrown to much, finally gets thrown to and missed a super easy catch. I think he can have another good season or two as a number two somewhere, but I feel like it was time to move on
Don't have a solid number 1 receiver now though, unless Hurns can step into that role. I'm assuming they'll draft someone, I do kind of hate wasting a high pick on a receiver but eh
Respect all he's done here and might get my family to write "Dez caught the ball" on my tombstone but when it's time to go, it's time to go

Dez thing feels a lot like when Andre Johnson left Houston. Or when Greg Jennings left Green Bay. Or when Chad Johnson left Cincinnati. There are probably countless other examples.
When these guys fall off the cliff, they fall so quickly. And from the franchise's standpoint, it's better to get out early and move on than to hold on too long.

I think Dez probably has some value left, but he'll be overpaid for what he can offer at this point. I'm sure the Redskins will sign him.

He has been pretty open about wanting to stay in the NFC East. The Eagles are already pretty loaded at WR, but maybe the Giants as a Marshall replacement makes sense as well?

Bumping this cuz tonight's the Superbowl for my fellow Browns fans!
But for real, I'm super excited for the draft tonight - feels like this may be the beginning of us finally turning the corner. I don't think I'll be able to watch much thanks to the Rosenstock show, but I'm leaving my preferences in here.
1st pick is a QB, obvs. Would prefer in this order - based only on articles I've read over the last few months: 1.) Darnold 2.) Rosen 3.) Mayfield 4.) Literally anyone else 5.) Allen
4th pick - I'm down to go really anywhere. I don't think we need to be taking Barkley at 4 - positional value and all that, plus Duke/Hyde is a pretty solid combo already. Would much rather take a back in the 2/3 round. Hoping we go with Chubb here at the moment. A line with Garrett/Ogbah/Chubb would do some serious damage and elevate the entire defense. Hoping that a good CB or an LB like LVE is available with pick 2.1 - or Guice, in a perfect world.
Should be a fun night - the Browns have been shades of terrible for ~literally~ my entire remembered life, so hopefully this is the start of a new era!

Sounds like it's going to be Baker. He definitely has the buzz this morning. Truthfully, those rankings aren't super meaningful above - the distance between the top three is super close for me and I'd be generally happy with any of the top three.

Will be fascinating to see if the Giants still go with Saquon or if they end up taking Darnold.

There isn't a QB in this draft that I really like, which is amazing. Last year I was so pissed when the Bears got Trubusky because of all the great options this year. My how things have changed.
-Rosen hasn't played a full season since his freshman year and the team went 8-5, 4-8 and 6-7 while he was there. I get the QB isn't the only thing that matters for a team's success but people wouldn't shut up about Cutler's inability to win games in college. Yes, the Pac-12 is a tough conference but last I checked, so is the SEC. -Mayfield is shorter than ideal and has off field issues that are well documented. Can short QBs succeed? Sure! But many short QBs have fallen on their face too. -Allen had a bad completion percentage in college. He also tweeted stupid stuff as a 16 year old. -Darnold is a turnover machine.
So is any of the above really that close to 'can't miss'? Frankly I like Randolph and Jackson more than the above guys. If I HAD to pick one of the above four, I'd pick Allen but only if he can sit for at least a year, ideally two (See: NY Giants).

I don't follow college football and I've paid scant attention to the news and prognostications leading up to the draft.
What do I need to know in advance so I'm prepared to shit all over whomever the Bears select?

My brain is telling me the draft's top will go:
Mayfield Barkley Darnold Chubb Nelson
and then it's a question of who trades down. Will Indy? Will TB? If one doesn't, I'm assuming the Bears will. What if they could get Buffalo to do:
To Buffalo: Pick #8, Round One Pick #5, Round Two One of Bears' 4th rounder
To Chicago:
Pick 12 Pick 22 Buffalo's 3rd round selection (Pick 32. They also have the #1 pick in the third round).

God this red carpet thing is so fucking stupid (I’m watching from an outback where it’s on)
I know in my heart the bears will find a way to fuck this up
