Has anyone else just basically stopped caring about the NFL over the past few years? For most of my life, I had been glued to my couch every Sunday and now I don't even bother to sit down to watch a single game most weeks. And when October rolls around, I usually opt to watch the random NBA matinee on Sundays instead of football.
I can't even put my finger on exactly what caused the loss of interest, but I think most of it revolves around the politics of the NFL and the way they only embrace the personality of their players when it benefits the league's conservative rich white male demographic. Frankly, the NBA is a much better run league that understands the star-power of their elite players is actually to their benefit and promotes them as such.
Anyway, just curious to see if anyone here is experiencing the same disinterest in the NFL the same way I am.

I'm more into College Football, but I still watch a lot of NFL games as well. I'm fairly optimistic about Detroit this year despite the tough schedule.

The only thing keeping me remotely interested in football is fantasy/gambling. I genuinely dislike the sport of football anyway and I barely actually watch the games, but as I've gotten older the concussions/lack of guaranteed contracts have made every Sunday into a genuine moral quandary. |

I went cold turkey on the NFL last year. I've never been a huge fan, so it wasn't as hard as it would be for some I'm sure. The toughest part was giving up fantasy since I had been in leagues with friends I don't talk to too much.
For folks considering it, I've found the Premier League an excellent substitute, although it does require getting up at some ungodly hours on the weekends.

I'll occasionally go to the bar to watch the Bears play, but considering I used to do it every single Sunday no matter how bad they were at the time, I guess it's fair to say I've lost interest. I'm going to stick with one fantasy league this year and that's about it.

I didn't even get into football until I moved here. Been a diehard Panthers fan since and haven't lost interest, really. I did lose interest in baseball since about a decade ago, though, and that makes me sad.

I always have a hard time deciding when to pull the trigger in my fantasy draft on guys that are suspended or will miss a few games due to injury. I got to imagine he still goes very high in most drafts and will be a great midseason boost.

Not saying Zeke is innocent but Ray Rice got only 2 games and had video evidence of the whole thing.

Zeke was never charged with anything, and one of the girls friends presented texts from her saying she made the whole thing up. Meanwhile, Josh Brown admitted to it and got 1 game. Ray Rice had video evidence and he got 2 games.
This is a bullshit suspension no matter how much you hate the Cowboys
If they want to present the evidence they found that implicates him then I'll gladly change my tune |

Neither Ray Rice or Josh Brown ended up playing another game, which was very much by design once the NFL saw how they fucked up the suspensions.
