Criminal charges don't need to occur for the NFL to issue a suspension.

Neither Ray Rice or Josh Brown ended up playing another game, which was very much by design once the NFL saw how they fucked up the suspensions. Josh Brown got a 1 game suspension and even admitted to abusing his wife. So I mean...Goodell makes 0 sense

No one is saying he or the NFL makes any sense. I'm just saying that just looking at the suspension handed down by the league is ignoring the full picture. Both of those guys were shut out of the NFL once Goodell/the owners saw the reaction. This is just another step in their weird process to figure out what the appropriate suspension is.

The police believed the woman, but didn't have enough evidence to press charges. The league agrees.

The announcement that there's a Chick-fil-a in the new Atlanta Falcons stadium and the Falcons only have one non-Sunday game is pretty hysterical.

So what? They're actually going to have to start serving on sundays?

It's going to be closed on Sundays like every other location. I guess they'll just use the space to sell another vendor's food.

Nah its gonna host a ton of college football games and well as the championship game and it hosts Atlanta United who are pretty incredibly popular in Atlanta as well as all the roaming country tours and its not like they take the signage down on a sunday

Alright I know exactly nothing about football but I joined my office Fantasy league because I wanted to be cool and also it would be nice to have something to talk about with my future father in law. Does this mean I have to watch a lot of football?

Does this mean I have to watch a lot of football? I don't really like football anymore, yet I've always been really good at fantasy football. Just listen to a few podcasts and check Rotoworld on a pretty consistent basis and you'll be good.

Reminder that Lollaboard Veterans' Fantasy League drafts tonight for anyone who's still in that league and posting on the board (I think there are only four of us in that category).

How'd your draft turn out?

Jordy Nelson AJ Green Lamar Miller Isaiah Crowell Matt Ryan Jarvis Landry Bilal Powell Doug Martin Donte Moncrief Kyle Rudolph Torrey Smith Kevin White Jaguars Defense Mason Crosby Zay Jones
So, uh, I don't know. People were telling me it was good but they could have been lying and I never would have known.

Light on RB, but the whole league is this year. Having Nelson and Green as your receivers is great though. I'm guessing an 8 team league?

10 actually! Yeah I didn't really understand how I was supposed to be picking team members based on position but I sorta figured it out and everyone from my office was super nice. I was at the end of pick, but it was a serpentine pattern so I got two in a row.

Looks respectable to me. Jarvis Landry in that spot is particularly nice if it's a PPR (Point Per Reception) league. Green, Nelson, Ryan and Rudolph are all great.
Miller, Crowell and Powell are tied to not-so-great QBs, so that's less than ideal.
I'd look into swapping out some bench WRs depending on who's available on the waiver wire. All four of your bench WRs are guys on my "avoid" list.

Someone explained to me how the waiver wire works but I don't entirely get it

Had my draft today. 12th pick in a 12-team .5PPR league:
1. Michael Thomas (WR) 2. AJ Green (WR) 3. Carlos Hyde (RB) 4. Aaron Rodgers (QB) 5. Jamison Crowder (WR) 6. Pierre Garcon (WR) 7. Rob Kelley (RB) 8. Doug Martin (RB) 9. Jacquizz Rodgers (RB) 10. Willie Snead (WR) 11. Jeremy Hill (RB) 12. Tyrell Williams 13-15 (insert random DEF, TE, K here)
This is the earliest I've ever drafted a quarterback. I'm always the last guy to pick a QB, instead loading up on RB and WR. But the value felt too good with Rodgers where I got him. My RB situation isn't great, but I think I have enough to hold the fort until Doug Martin comes back in week 4 and I'm usually pretty good at finding whoever this year's Jordan Howard or Devonta Freeman.

Mine is 16 teams, 1ppr, draft 3x college players per year and you can stash them as long as you'd like. Once activated, they cost one buck. 300 cap/keep 6 players max per year for 3 years max.
QB Marcus Mariota* RB Jordan Howard RB Christian McCaffrey* WR Michael Thomas WR Jordy Nelson TE Travis Kelce FL Cole Beasley DL Khalil Mack LB KJ Wright DB Jamal Adams or Eric Weddle FL Christian Kirksey *college picks from years past bench: Kenny Britt, Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, George Kittle, Jay Cutler, CJ Prosise, John Ross Also have Tarik Cohen/Jonathan Stewart in case of injury. FWIW for defense you get 2pts per tackle and 1 per assisted tackle so tackles can really rack you up points.

Sounds like MIA/TB might not happen on Sunday and it'll be rescheduled for week 11 (convenient they both have the same bye week).
I was planning to start Jacuzzi Rodgers, but my brother also loses DeVante Parker in our matchup. So I guess that's a wash?

DB Jamal Adams or Eric Weddle That's a hell of a lineup for a 16 team league. My two cents with respect to your DB is to go with Jamal Adams. Weddle's tackles dropped big time last year and they added Tony Jefferson in the off-season. Jefferson is more likely to be up in the box than Weddle is. I had Weddle in my all-IDP league when he was with TEN and he was great back then.
