OKC will be a fun team next year. Crazy that the West is so stacked that they won't even be a real contender, though.

East is such a joke right now. LeBron and no one else. It really makes me wonder if this was the wrong year for the Bulls to tank. If they had just brought in a decent PG, they could have been a top 4 team in the East. Hell, they might have even gotten there just with Rondo.

Taj to Minnesota. That team is going to be fun.

Hell, I wouldn't be shocked if they made a move for Luol Deng at this point.
On non-Timberbulls news, looks like Ibaka and Lowry are going back to Toronto on 3-year deals. All of those first-round point guards in the draft really dried up the market for guys like Lowry, Hill, Rondo, Rose, etc. Toronto is also trying to trade Cory Joseph to Indiana because I don't the Pacers have a single PG on their roster anymore.

Bulls do 4 years, $48 million for Milos Teodosic. Pick a lane, please.

I think the Bulls have at least 3 PGs already in Dunn, Grant and Payne. Valentine should get some minutes at the point in an ideal situation as well.
The Teodosic situation is a weird one. A bunch of outlets in Europe announced the acquisition as if it was official, then a bunch of Chicago based sources denied it. So who knows.

It's frustrating that a second year former top 5 pick who was just one of the centerpieces for a top 15 NBA player is not trusted to be good enough to start for a rebuilding team. Go Bulls.

This Hayward fiasco actually makes "The Decision" look like a good PR move.

Welp, he's a Celtic now.
Also don't really get what the Kings are doing, but what's new.

Kinda weird to see a one way player that put up 22 ppg pulling $32M per year but I guess that's the NBA these days

Hell Otto Porter just got $26.5M a year deal

I like the Otto Porter deal. He's good and still only 24, and the likelihood of them getting a better, cheaper 3rd banana without trading away anyone of value was basically 0%.

ESPN's Real Plus Minus has him at basically a neutral impact on the defensive end for the past two seasons. With all that he does on the offensive end and the energy spent there, you could argue that not hurting your team on the defensive end suggests he could make more of a defensive impact on a team that needs him to do less on offense like the Celtics. The Jazz's defense was 3rd in the league last year so they definitely did not need him spending more energy on defense.

Neutral impact on the 3rd best defense in the league implies a pretty decent defender, no?

It really is funny how little people outside Utah know about the Jazz, even despite them winning a playoff series last year.
A Portlander told me yesterday that Rudy Gobert can't play on offense. Dude was one of the top 3 most efficient/impactful players on both sides of the ball last year.

Didn't Gobert have a silly high FG% last year? Like 70%?

Didn't Gobert have a silly high FG% last year? Like 70%? 66% I can't remember the exact stat, but in terms of efficiency, he was basically as efficient as Stephen Curry's unanimous MVP season. 45% on threes = roughly 66% on twos. Math.

Pretty happy with the Hornets' acquisitions overall. Still reluctant to get any hopes up for a playoff berth, though. I know how this shit works.

If the Hornets can't muster a playoff berth in the East, that's a really bad team.

Right?! On paper, I would think they are gonna be pretty badass. They lost 5 OT games and several others by 3 points or less last season. You would think they should be a solid 50ish win team this season. They had a great summer league game today, too. Dat Bacon.

Guess those Teodosic/Bulls rumors were fake news. Woj confirms 2 years for $12.3 mil. with the Clippers.
Also interesting in that it takes away one of the last few possible Rose destinations. Maybe he ends up back in New York after all.
