Still balls hot here today. Supposed to break overnight. That will be a blessed moment. It dropped like 30 degrees last night here, so I'm sure you'll be getting that soon.

I'm sunburned It's lovely. I realized that when I'm anxious I steer the conversation to the weather so I am going to make an effort to stop doing that. Hopefully this will be my last post in this thread.

I am in Phoenix this week. This is the hottest weather I have ever been in. It is currently 118 degrees out. It's supposed to peak at 120 in an hour or two. Help me.

oh dear...
As temperatures climb in Phoenix, Arizona, more than 40 flights have been cancelled - because it is too hot for the planes to fly. The weather forecast for the US city suggests temperatures could reach 120F (49C) on Tuesday. That is higher than the operating temperature of some planes. American Airlines announced it was cancelling dozens of flights scheduled to take off from Sky Harbor airport during the hottest part of the day.

yeah that's a thing.
luckily it should be closer to like 110 Friday (i cant see myself saying that sentence many times in my life) so hopefully my flight is safe
but also a tropical storm is hitting Houston this week potentially so maybe my flight isn't safe
fun times

Take care of your outdoor pets. Please. I don't have any pets, and I'm only here for work. But you better believe I'd be keeping that pet inside with like five fans on it and buckets of water for it if I had one here

After a week of on and off rain, Thursday night was a continual torrential downpour. By noon on Friday my road was a river. I was still pumping water out of my place when the sun came up the next morning. I am very lucky that my place is one of the highest in the neighborhood and I got through the weekend with very minimal damage to my basement. The fire department had to send rescue boats down the road to pull people out of houses where a nearby creek jumped the bank and engulfed the cul de sac. This weekend was absolutely no fun.

I'm in the middle of Michigan. Not sure where this weather system came from, but it was some kind of awful.

Oh, god, yeah, I saw pictures of that. I'm glad to hear it hit you less hard. I saw so many completely submerged cars.

Yeah, it's rough. It actually looks less scary now that it's raining, but it probably means we're in the middle of it. Watching that stuff come in from the 50th floor was pretty nuts.

I'm upset. Didn't do much yesterday, mostly relaxed, planned a full day in Chicago for today. And right now I'm stuck in a hotel room hoping it let's up a little

every single update on this hurricane is looking worse and worse. its now projected to be a category 3 (formerly projected category 1) and its slowly shifting north.
I'm starting to think I should ask my boss to let me work from home tomorrow
