There were people fighting each other trying to get on the train at the Kedzie stop. It was intense. Is it maybe a better idea to hop on a bus to get somewhere where a lyft can be gotten easier?

According to setlist.fm The Pumpkins hadn't played Quiet since 1994, so that's pretty cool

AV Club really did their homework on this one... "This year’s lineup boasts artists such as Patti Smith, Run The Jewels, Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Slipknot, The Flaming Lips, and more."FWIW I had to show proof of vax when I entered. Some staff were masked but others were not, but I never felt uncomfortable. I thought Riot Fest did a fine job, the tone of this piece seems way overly judgmental to me.

That's terrible. I saw more people than I remember from the past who were way past intoxicated last night. Multiple people being literally carried out. Maybe it's because I'm old, but I just don't see the appeal of getting to that point at the fest. I wait til I'm back at the hotel to get nice and crunk, lol

That's awful to hear. We were at the California station and quickly realized we weren't getting on a train any time soon. Ubers and lyfts were expensive and impossible to get so we got on a bus and transferred somewhere off of cermak. Wasn't a fun way to end the night. The shows were great though.

I left after Disarm and had no trouble getting on the Pink line at Kedzie, but by the time we pulled into California most people were not able to get on. I ended up having to wait 25 minutes for the Ashland bus, but after hearing about other experiences I can't really complain. I'm definitely leaving way early on Sunday.

CTA was an absolute disaster getting out and this new fest layout is pretty annoying.
However, I didn't have to wait for a bathroom at all yesterday, so they do some logistics right I guess.

Lmao at closing with Shame and United States. Billy Corgan, ladies and gentlemen It was actually pretty fantastic, and I respect not saving the obvious songs for last. This was my first Riot Fest, and I loved a lot about the past two days, despite the crazy food lines and downed credit card readers, but the journey home really made me question whether I would come back for it. Even Thursday was tough (no ubers/lyfts, infrequent public transit) but last night was a real disaster. They seemed to be doing everything possible to prevent people from getting out of the park at the end of the night, with numerous confusing choke points that forced people to mash together and slowly shuffle their way out. Seemed like the Reggie's Bus was the most reliable form of transit, which is nuts. We wound up bailing on the pink line andnwalking far enough from the fest that we could catch a bus before the crowds hit. Took us nearly 2 hours to get to our destination and we still beat nearly everyone else there. Totally killed the vibe and took away from what was a great series of performances.

Knew things were going to get heated on the platform and wanted no part of it.

I was strongly considering skipping today once Fucked Up dropped, but I'll deal with it.
Also, at the end of the night there's a bus up Kedzie that goes to the blue line stop, might be a better option to get back downtown tonight

I think my play on Sunday is gonna be to get on the Roosevelt bus and take that to the red line home. Maybe. No good way to deal with getting down to and out of there!

When I used to work in the Loop and would take the blue line at Clark/Lake the line of people going north would be sometimes 3 or 4 trains long at rush-hour. Southbound you could get on. So I would go southbound to Jackson then switch back north and catch a seat. May seem wrong but are there routes south or west that you can go to get on Blue, Pink or Red Line - then go north/east but at least be on L and sitting?
