Had a great time today. Big Freedia was a ton of fun. Azz Everwhere for sure. Les Savy Fav was my most anticipated set and they did not disappoint. Tim Harrington was in great form. I was one-off from the rail and enjoyed every minute, even when he sweat on me. Somehow, LSF had more ass than Big Freedia…
Ganser was fun. Bummer about F’d up. Had low expectations for the rest of the day, but had a great time. Saw some of a Andrew WK, complete with Kat Denning, caught the My Name Is Jonas cover on the way to RtJ, which I watched from the fringe. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Lmao at closing with Shame and United States. Billy Corgan, ladies and gentlemen It was actually pretty fantastic, and I respect not saving the obvious songs for last. the pumpkins never save obvious songs for last but closing your first ever riot fest headlining set, and your "first show back" with a 10 minute ego cut from zeitgeist is objectively hilarious coming from a big fan

I left after state champs, because every other later band except for mayday parade was trapper kept, some multiple times, including rise against who I saw last week up close at milw summerfest w/ vericuester, so I'm not the person to ask how was leaving the fest. Today, any act I see later than ice t and body count is a bonus, and I'm really interested in getting there in time for the re-united gories, whose component parts played a hideout block party back in the day.

For those who went yesterday, how was it leaving the fest? Huge pain. Airportman and I walked and both tried to order ubers/lyfts and it kept insisting there were no drivers. We had a couple people accept and then immediately cancel. We got decently far before we could get one. It would be really smart to open a second exit to this festival to avoid the massive bottleneck crowd at the end of the evening. Once the bus lines start filling up you get a lot of people shoving against foot traffic to get to the back of the line. I’m leaving after Devo tonight partially because I would like to get home at a somewhat reasonable hour and partially because I really don’t feel like dealing with the mess of getting out

Thanks, I'm debating just lasagnaing today. I'm definitely not leaving the house before the Bears game is over, I'll see how I feel after that.

Seriously though, people know you can pretty much walk to the blue line stop at Kedzie and then transfer downtown, right? Edit: I'm only just now seeing that they don't have an entrance near the pink line this year, I thought they always had that

I was only gonna go for Thursday/Ratboys/The Flaming Lips, but I've seen all of them at least twice. Almost certainly going to stay home and watch baseball

Riding the pink line to Central Park on the 54/Cermak train and then hopping on the Loop train there worked well. The train still gets packed down the line, but you get to get on right away and sit down.
I left the fest around 9:40, and got back to west loop by 10:30.
I did like that they were yelling over the intercom for people not to push their way on to the trains because there was more trains right behind this one, but were they actually running addl trains last night?

Got a slow start and traffic seems a bitch on the uber rn, so I'm prob going to miss most or all of 3!oh!3. Hoping to get into the park to freak out to one or two songs at the end, but it'll be line dependent.

There was a huge crowd for 3oh3, and they decided to dance in the baseball diamond, so it's dusty as shit now
