Rarely if ever drink at home. Usually just a couple glasses of wine. However if I’m at someone else’s house it’s going off. It makes me a cheaper drunk out in public and also creates fun scenarios like this exact moment where I’m in my in-laws kitchen caramelizing onions off a fucking bean Or falling asleep on the Os patio

Giving up drinking is the easiest part of the whole 30 for me. No sugar/dairy/carbs is hard, but no weed is definitely the most difficult lol

I've somehow managed to keep this up through February as well - last couple weeks have been A LOT in terms of stress, so I'm pretty damn proud of myself. Walked into a liquor store to grab some NA beer last week, and they had Heady Topper and Pliny/Blind Pig available lol
Already planning my first beer next Wednesday, though.

I MADE IT. Officially down 14lbs since Jan 1st. Apparently alcohol is a primary source of calories or something.
Just cracked open a Pliny and holy hell maybe choosing an 8% beer for my first one of the year wasn't a great idea.

Going to make a real effort at this one this year, because I've definitely had a realization that I'm drinking way too much lately. My partner is in so I have someone to hold me accountable (and vice versa).

I'm in as well. I did a hard reset back in May after I couldn't find my hotel room and found it very helpful. Have definitely gotten lax as the year has gone on but have overall been much better at moderating my intake since trying a couple months of abstinence. Going to drink six martinis on February 1st and then get a DUI driving home from Panic at the Chicago Theater a few weeks later.

Between birthday celebrations and the holidays dry January is a welcomed break. I plan on breaking it a couple days early this year for a work event, but I think four weeks dry is enough for me anyway.

I:m going to be doing a big diet this year, so I might at least have a dry-er January to help with that

I did January and February this year. Might not be that ambitious this year, but I’m in.

Mrs. Doso opened a nice/expensive cab on NYE and it’s about 2/3rds gone but now she has teh ‘rona and she can’t really drink it but it also feels like a total waste throwing it down the drain and I’m feeling some pressure here to just drink it even though we both committed to Dry January.

I think the bottle stocks Krombacher as their n/a beer which I'd avoid at all costs. The lagunitas hoppy refresher is a way better pick.

there's a difference between N/A and zero point zero. better half can only imbibe the latter, because the former still has trace amounts of alcohol unless it specifically specifies zero.

Drinking had become way too much of a regular thing for me and I'm really hoping holding strong for the month helps reset me a bit and I can just stick to certain occasions throughout the year. I'd also really love to lose some weight before my future wedding, and on top of that we're starting hardcore saving money mode for that.
Do have one exception for Dry January, my partner has some swanky gala with an open bar at the end of the month for a volunteer group she's a part of, but my compromise was if we give up that day then we extend the dry time to go until February 11 (super bowl Sunday)
