Orioles are about to go like 20-80 in that league lmao - especially if the Pirates swap with the Braves (as they should, and PH suggested)

Im bored so I looked at the projected team WAR on Fangraphs for each team to see how balanced the divisions are. Conclusion: pretty balanced!
Here's how they all rank:
East: 3, 6, 7, 10, 15, 17, 21, 24, 27, 30 - average: 16 - median: 16
Central: 4, 8, 11, 12, 13, 16, 18, 20, 26, 28 - average: 15.6 - median: 14.5
West: 1, 2, 5, 9, 14, 19, 22, 23, 25, 29 - average: 14.9 - median: 16.5

Nightengale has had the exclusive for about 4 of these realignment plans so far and none of them have panned out. I think him and Passan have been pretty open about the fact that there are several proposals being discussed, but I'm pretty sure this is the first one that has actual dates attached to it along with the phrase "cautious optimism".

Great news. Now we just need the NBA to come up with a plan. I think the NBA’s plan is “wait til next year”. Same with the NHL

Great news. Now we just need the NBA to come up with a plan. I think the NBA’s plan is “wait til next year”. Same with the NHL Latest news for the NBA is that they will get to 70 regular season games (3-7 more games for each team) because the regional sports networks have to pay in full once 70 games are televised. Then a modified playoff and then next season won't start until around Christmas.

Fuck it, let’s boaddot it: how should they do the playoffs? I didn’t read about em in there

This was already strongly rumored but here's confirmation. Hopefully that means Madrigal and Kopech start the season in the majors

To be totally fair this is still not an official confirmation- but yeah, I can't see how you could run the minors this year.

This was already strongly rumored but here's confirmation. Hopefully that means Madrigal and Kopech start the season in the majors Even if there's no minor league season the White Sox will not start Madrigal in the majors. They will make sure he doesn't accrue a full season of service time, with a 100 game season that means they only need to wait like two weeks to call him up from the developmental league or whatever.

Ah, to be in 2015 and talk about your team manipulating service time

It will be addressed in the next CBA I'm sure.

It will be addressed in the next CBA I'm sure. Obviously. I gotta imagine these franchises can send the minor leagues to an insulated baseball school in system or something. Like all the Sox minor league teams combine to a big baseball camp like in high school and play against each other. Surely someone would pay for that

Madrigal is more reasonable to start in the majors than Kopech this season.
Thus, neither will start in the majors.

Madrigal is more reasonable to start in the majors than Kopech this season. Thus, neither will start in the majors. It's worth noting that Kopech's clock has started, since he got hurt while in the majors. It would be harder to manipulate his service time, since he earned a full year last year.

I don't think it has anything to do with manipulating the clock - I genuinely believe they want to have him log some innings before rejoining the ML roster. I don't see them bringing him up as an extra reliever if they have the option of leaving him back and getting him some innings as a starter.

Right, I think with a normal season he would have opened in the minors but given the current proposed plan he'll end up on the opening day roster.
Assuming there is an opening day.

The natural thing is to adopt a KBO team but how do you pick anyone but the Dinos? www.baseballprospectus.com/news/article/58750/meanwhile-in-baseball-an-introduction-to-the-kbos-teams/Each team has an MLB comparison. Looks like I'm an LG Twins fan now: "The Bears/Twins rivalry isn’t quite the same as the Cubs/White Sox, but only because the Chicago version is a little more even. The Twins are a Southside ballclub that don’t even get their own side; they have to share their digs and watch their big brother win pennants on them. Like the White Sox, however, there’s a pulse in LG, and the hope that they’ll be able to open a new chapter on a franchise with a long history—much of it suffering."
