Did you know people are paying money to have an image of themselves turned into a cardboard cutout and placed in the stadium? 2020 is wild.
Edit: Fantastic TOTP

I'd probably pony up to do that at Wrigley because it'll be the only way I'll ever get to sit that close to home plate

Giving serious consideration to watching the KBO re-broadcast at 2. Has anyone here been tuning in?

Giving serious consideration to watching the KBO re-broadcast at 2. Has anyone here been tuning in? Yes - please see my earlier write-up. Happy to answer any other questions. Biggest factor for success is who the studio commentary team is and who the home KBO cheerleader squad is.

“I want to apologize for leaving the impression that players shouldn’t be allowed to bargain to protect their health and safety,” the governor said. “They absolutely have that right, and I should have made that more clear.”

That picture of jacked CC Sabathia sparked an argument in a group chat: Is CC Sabathia a no-doubt hall of famer?
I said yes and I was surprised at the level of opposition.

I dont think hes a no doubt HOFer but he will get in eventually. Starting pitcher HOF standards need to normalize to the new reality of workloads and counting stats and all that. Right now it's kind of inconsistent on who gets in but CC's profile is not really the type that gets in easily these days.
There has never been a day that Trevor Hoffman was better than CC.

The best thing CC did for the Yankees wasn't winning a title where he pitched on 3 days rest throughout the entire playoffs, it was when he intentionally drilled a Tampa Bay guy and cost himself a 500,000 bonus and then shouted "that was for you bitch" at the opposing pitcher just to back up his boys. And the Yankees paid the bonus anyway just on principle.
You could be in the HOF and not be a legend. Cc is legendary.

Trevor Hoffman is a weird example to reference.

CC will get in, but it'll take a few years.

I use Hoffman as an example of a contemporary who is in the HOF and wasn't half as valuable a pitcher as CC was.

CC will get in, by the time he's eligible standards may have even changed enough for him to get in first ballot.

I like the idea of travel ball kids wearing their hat like CC and I like the reference to travel ball which I badly miss in these isolated times. I DISlike the casual racism by the coach but I dont want to punish the messenger. Overall a like or even a like +.

His stretch with the Brewers after he got traded right before the trade deadline in 2008 is still amazing to me

As long as everyone comments "like" or "like +" with a short paragraph explanation, we should be good to go

Beltran to the Astros was really fun too. If my memory serves me correctly, he hit 80 home runs in the 2nd half and then 20 more in the playoffs.

CC was maybe my first real favorite player, an honestly inspiring dude, and I look forward to his eventual, deserved HOF induction.

Seeing him get lit up in the world series was like seeing Prime Mariano Rivera get shelled In hindsight, that was the beginning of the end for him. He was good in 2017 but more human. By 2018 he'd fully regressed. But before that... dude was the best pitcher I've ever seen in person. Just electric. Copped his jersey with the WS patch that offseason and it's my go-to whenever (if-ever) baseball happens again.

I dunno if its hindsight or whatever but I remember losing my goddamn mind about the Lofton/Ramirez/Simon acquisition the Cubs made near the deadline in 2003. They lost 95 games the season before and almost did the damn thing
