MLBPA voted against the league's final proposal. So Manfred will probably wait a week, then impose an even shorter season, the players will file a grievance, and baseball will self destruct. I guess the only people around who remember 1994 are the fans.

I'm happy they're going to try but I think the big salary guys screwed over the little salary and league min guys by not taking the deal. Based on the fact that they wasted so much time I don't see how the players are going to win their incoming grievance. The league min guys are gonna get like $25k more to play the season.

I kind of don't care? I'm sure I'll be excited once they actually take the field, but this has been soul draining. This is where I'm at too. I'll be watching for sure once/if the season starts, but I'm a.) feeling like covid is gonna force a cancellation at some point and b.) really bummed that our last season with Frankie Lindor has been shortened to 35-60 games. And if we have a rough like 3 weeks to start the season, we may have to pull the plug and trade him for peanuts after like a month and a half. Guess I'll have to "enjoy him" while I can... |

At this point I don't think anything more than 60 is realistic or possible, especially with the expanded playoff plan.

The transaction freeze is being lifted Friday at noon EST. With expanded rosters and a universal DH I imagine we're going to see a flurry of signings. Puig remains the biggest name left out there.
