If this is a standalone signing, I pretty much hate it. But if there's a Brantley-type coming and Eaton is basically an overqualified 4th OF that can rotate in and get Eloy/Mystery RF reps at DH, then it's fine.

The Eaton move seems fairly low stakes. I'd imagine there's something else in mind for RF.

He's going to be the projected starting RF, with Engel probably getting the lion's share of ABs vs lefties. |

i was telling my dad about la russa showing his ring to the arresting officer and pulling a "dont you know who i am," and my dad's response was "wow, the cop must have been under 40"

Honestly, I wish we’d just fucking commit one way or another. Tired of “optimizing” this rebuild with rosters that get 86-91 wins and don’t have enough offensive depth to win playoff games. Idk how this team even cracks .500 next year once Lindor’s gone. I know Carlos was pretty rough last year, but the dude still draws walks better than anyone else, and usually takes a little bit to get his bat going. Pretty confident he’ll be a productive piece for KC. And we shoulda fucking kept him around if that’s all it took. One of the best players of our 2010s run and an underrated franchise great. He’ll probably be in our team HOF at some point. |

Eno Sarris has the Sox getting both Ozuna and Hendriks. Confidence boost before the bottom eventually falls out and we don't end up with any other free agents.
