walk north of the Western stop. there are 5 western avenue stops across the entire cta train system. I'm assuming it's one of the two on the north side. Blue line to O'Hare.

Tried to see if Band of Bohemia was open for dinner/offer outdoor seating. Turns out they’re closed for good. Also, Hamburger Mary’s is closing too.

Band of Bohemia closed over the summer after a bunch of allegations came out about the owners mistreating staff. They filed for bankrupty last week. The chef you're referring to left Band of Bohemia like two years ago to be the co executive chef at Entante, but had to resign from that position before they even opened because of those allegations.

Been looking on Craigslist/Zillow for shits to see what the rental market is like. Based on the prices of similar units available, we are now definitely paying too much.
Anyone ever successfully lower their rent with their landlord when extending a lease? We've been with her for six years so it'd be an awkward conversation.

Because if you're overpaying and you've found places that are available for cheaper, and don't mind moving, I would think simply using it as leverage either works or it doesn't. I can't imagine a situation where my personal affection for a landlord would outweigh the option to reduce my rent.

I freaked out for a second, Sleeping Village posted that they are closing, but only for "the season" starting Nov 17. Not sure when that means they plan on opening back up, though.

I will ask, but I'm sure they don't know yet either. They've really handled this whole thing well with the safety of the staff at the forefront, and I'm pretty hopeful they'll come back strong.
They do seem to be using the patio as best they can in the meantime (was thinking about going to the Dead dj set tomorrow but there was only one reservation left). If you get a chance stop by before they close and tip extravagantly.

Live Nation generally doesn't own/operate venues that small. There's not enough money in it for them, it's not worth their time.

Audiotree-era Schubas and LH was already pretty personality-less and mostly booked cheap local talent and live nation owned tiktok stars I'm not sure what difference it would really make if they were purchased by AEG or whatever but yeah the future of live music is extremely grim.

They don't call it the Windy City for nothing!
(they actually call it that cause of a rivalry with Cincy, which makes about as much sense as anything else)

I think Windy City is a reference to the city's politics.
Edit: Both are possibilities, I hadn't heard of the Cincinnati rivalry thing before.
