Hope our west suburb buds are okay
This is one of the first big thunderstorms my new dog has been through. She's scared shitless on an ordinary day of pretty much anything. But she barely acted scared of the storm, and even wanted to go out and walk around in the middle of it. Great.

I'm going to miss Southport Lanes. Curious to see who ends up buying the bar itself - I'd hope another restaurant/bar can repurpose it as opposed to some rich dude using it as a man cave addition.

Have any of you people here gone and seen the Obama portraits at the Art Institute and if so how big of a clusterfuck was it? Apparently I am going on a date there Saturday which seems like a bad idea but I guess being at the art institute for several hours beforehand might not be terrible.

You check in when you get there and get in a virtual line, so you can go check out other stuff. They text you when you're like ten minutes out so you can come back and see them. You're not waiting in line just for the portraits for very long. |

I went Friday, it took no time at all. The virtual check in said it was a 30-45 minute wait but literally 2 minutes later it said it was my turn. I don't think they're tough about that line either.

Decided to do some tourist things this weekend so I’m going to the Field Museum for the first time in about 20 years and going on the Chicago Architecture Boat Tour for the first time.
So psyched.
