stepping away from movie quotes for a moment,
it's weird when you get to DJ for your room, someone requests some dad rock, and then it erupts into the managers scolding the designers for not knowing who Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, Queen, or Bowie are.
luckily i'm moving into a different suite next week to avoid this anxiety.

i just realized the smoky mountains are 3 hours away from me.
the weekend after pitchfork and the one after that i have a flight on monday around noon, so i don't need to be in the office at all. and with friday being a half day for the summer think i'm going to drive out on fridays, hike saturday and sundays, then drive back monday mornings.
i'm sooo excited.
anyone ever been/have any trails i could realistically do in that time?

That's crazy that you didn't know the Smoky Mountains are nearby.
There's often a parking lot of traffic on the Gatlinburg route during the summer, so you should reference Google Maps and figure out what way you're taking before assuming 3 hours is going to be enough time.

It's like the people that read the mountains are an hour and a half away from Denver and then are shocked they have to sit in traffic for four hours.
