Its funny b/c she was immediately like "not too much Radiohead please." I'm guessing she'll have to see the playlist first, but she was all for me doing the music. I curate our playlists when we go on long drives, and when we have people over and she almost always enjoys what i've put on there.

Yes, please do that. I tried being picky about the music selection, but the dj still played the typical old shitty stuff half the time. We barely had ipods back then, so I didn't have much of a choice at the time.
Edit: making a playlist, forget the dj that is

My gf has said before that we should have a Catholic wedding to make her grandmother happy. I told her, 'Well, I guess we're not getting married until your grandma dies, then.' Didn't go over well. lol brutal

I'm looking at Spotify's "wedding classics" playlist. Disgusting.

Yeah, pretty sure my fiancée has a strict "no Radiohead" policy as well, which is a damn shame because I want to put so fucking much of it on our playlist. I think I like the idea of an uninterrupted playlist and a trusted friend to not fuck it up or something. If I hear the Cha Cha Slide or the Cupid Shuffle I'll burn this whole fucking city to the ground.

Congrats Bosma.
Timbo, I echo everyone's general advice to do what you want and (gently) communicate to family members to find a way to be genuinely supportive or don't come.

My idol crush (depicted in my avatar) liked two mentions I made @ her today, and then liked another tweet of mine. So I can chalk up today as my best birthday.

wedding was awesome....no drama despite the late shift of venue. Lots of great lines...but the best was from one of Chantelle's bridesmaids opening to her speech:
"not sure what's hotter.....my tits in this dress or all these guys in kilts".

Of interest to genghis, stelles and a few others: Dan Boeckner tweeted a ton over the weekend that he and Devojka performed as a duo as Operators, but also reconfigured and performed a few Handsome Furs songs as part of the set. Very into that.

While we were in Chicago over the weekend, my girlfriend entered the lottery for Hamilton tickets. She didn't win, but after the suggestions of a few of her friends, dropped around $260 (the cheapest, she said) for a ticket on TM. She wound up in the 4th row! She loved it, said it was worth every penny. She met some of the actors afterwards too. I'm really glad she got to see it, and that it didn't disappoint (FYI, I'm not really a fan of musicals).
She did this when I was at Pitchfork Saturday.

She did this when I was at Pitchfork Saturday. I got a crazy deal for 150, back section when I went. It really is totally worth the hype. I saw it with Wayne Brady as Burr and he was astoundingly good. I wish it wasn't so fucking expensive. I'm trying to nab tickets before it leaves again.

I really wanted to go hiking the Smokeys this weekend but forecast is calling for rain and possible thunderstorms. Thinking about going and just hoping that it won't rain.

Or, it does storm, and you get superpowers somehow!

the highest percentage is 58% so not too awful. I'll book accommodation in Knoxville tomorrow instead of today if it gets better.

so lately ive made some life changes that has been kind of good for me. -started running pretty regularly. I'm not on any sort of strict schedule but ive generally been going 3-4 times a week for about the past 2 months, which is a huge step up from 0. I even went one of the days while I was in Chicago (the other days I think I walked enough to cover myself) -this one I still need improvement on but I've been trying to eat a bit healthier. ive not stuck to any sort of strict diet but ive generally gone for healthier options when there is an option. I slipped quite a bit in Chicago though but hey vacation -I've significantly cut down on alcohol consumption. for a while I was drinking alone way too often, I cut that out completely, set a rule for myself to only drink if someone else is drinking with me and keep at the same level (in otherwords don't be downing beers if they are just having one or two). for a little while my alcohol consumption was genuinely becoming a problem, now ive cut it down to just very occasionally -I've worked out a money saving plan. I'm making enough right now compared to living costs that I could easily be saving, but I kind of told myself I wanted to enjoy having a disposable income for a bit so I haven't been saving much besides putting aside an emergency fund. But its been 7 months of that now and I figure I should actually start saving for like, the future while I can.
just a bunch of small things but its all been nice. getting a girlfriend has helped a lot with all this stuff, she hasn't been pushing me hard or anything but ive always had a hard time motivating myself to do things for myself. bringing another person in helped push me over the edge to actually do this shit. plus she's also started with the eating healthier and running so that's helped a lot with motivation.
I think I just wanted to pat myself on the back for a second even though I'm not all the way there to fully getting where I want to be with life stuff, but this is the most progress ive made in years so yeah

Good job man, keep it up! Little changes can pay off.
I should've run in Chicago one morning this past weekend. The heat and humidity here is rough.
