Yeah it's a park you should avoid if you don't have Park Hoppers. This, and even so the wait for rides is absurd because of the limited amount so like, fuck it, don't even go. Maybe once Star Wars opens it'll be worth going again... but given what they're removing, a franchise land is leaving a bit more of a sour taste in my mouth.

Toy Story is something I'll happily walk through but it's mostly a kids park. Which is totally fine fwiw, just not something I'm going out of my way to see.

Holy fuck, the Mickey Mouse ride is gonna be screens? I'm fucking done. Like, to clarify, there are times when screen-based rides have been done well. I even really love the new King Kong simulator at Islands of Adventure. But I'm also mostly sick of them (that one was just done particularly well). Taking out real sets/animatronics and LIVE ACTORS (such a novelty these days) for screens... that is unacceptable. Okay, I'm done. Sorry. I'm legit upset.

I have never been to Disney World/Land. With any luck I will die before ever doing so. I've never been to Disney World. However, in winter 1989, I went to Disneyland and Universal Studios and saw Jay Leno guest host the Tonight Show and saw the still extant band Stunt Road at the Palomino Club in North Hollywood, and ate at Paul Newman's restaurant, and saw the Persian version of Luciano Pavarotti at an Iranian restaurant, among other things I did in Los Angeles in a couple of days time.

One last anecdote about The Great Movie Ride...
I'm kinda not thrilled I went on it twice last time in retrospect. The first time was fantastic, the actors nailed their roles. The second time was... oh gosh, it was by so many counts the worst acting I've ever had on the ride. My aunt and I were laughing about it for hours after, but for that to be my last experience on one of my fav rides... meh.

The second time was... oh gosh, it was by so many counts the worst acting I've ever had on the ride. My aunt and I were laughing about it for hours after, but for that to be my last experience on one of my fav rides... meh. I had a similar experience last time I rode it. Both actors were quiet and sounded bored. It was a bummer since I like that ride a lot, too. I heard they were shutting it down, but assumed they were going to update and freshen it up. Double bummer. I've been to Disney several times throughout the years. My dad is crazy about the place and goes all the time. The past few, he offered to cover a lot of the expenses, so I figured: why not? Especially since I have kids who love the crap out of the place. It's always a great time (I enjoy roaming the grounds and looking at details almost as much as riding the actual rides), but going twice in the space of 3-4 years is waaay too soon for my liking.

I always forget, is Cedar point the one with like 30 coasters, or is that Kings Island?

Cedar Point was a lot of fun last summer. I hadn't been in probably 15 years and we had a blast.
I wouldn't really compare it to Disney, though. Apples/Oranges.

yeah i think CP has the record for most record-breaking coasters (height, speed, G force, etc.)
so it's the place to go if the only reason you choose to stomach parks is for coasters, like myself.

maaaan I had like six weeks of training in Dayton, Ohio and super wanted to go to Cedar Point or at least Kings Island (which is really close) and both of them opened up for the season just a day after I was leaving for the last time and I'm still bitter about it

If you're not going to do Cedar Point on a weekday/during the school year, the Fast Pass is 1000% worth it.

I haven't been to Kings Island in even longer (20 years? Yeesh, oollllldd), but that park got me back riding roller coasters after I had been terrified of them for like 3-4 years.
