Disney World already died when they closed Maelstrom AMA This was horrendous, and last time I was there I waited an hour on that Frozen line because my sister wanted to do it and I wasn't gonna make her do it alone. It's... not good. And Norway is a glorified Frozen hub. I don't have much of a problem with the Nemo stuff because it's tucked away in a corner but as far as World Showcase goes, keep any franchises out of it... RIP Norway.

One last anecdote about The Great Movie Ride... I'm kinda not thrilled I went on it twice last time in retrospect. The first time was fantastic, the actors nailed their roles. The second time was... oh gosh, it was by so many counts the worst acting I've ever had on the ride. My aunt and I were laughing about it for hours after, but for that to be my last experience on one of my fav rides... meh. I had a similar experience last time I rode it. Both actors were quiet and sounded bored. It was a bummer since I like that ride a lot, too. I heard they were shutting it down, but assumed they were going to update and freshen it up. Double bummer. I've been to Disney several times throughout the years. My dad is crazy about the place and goes all the time. The past few, he offered to cover a lot of the expenses, so I figured: why not? Especially since I have kids who love the crap out of the place. It's always a great time (I enjoy roaming the grounds and looking at details almost as much as riding the actual rides), but going twice in the space of 3-4 years is waaay too soon for my liking. I'm actually jealous of going twice in that timeframe, but I digress. Good point about the parks being about more than just the rides. The detail and immersion of the lands, the restaurants all around the resort in general (as UA said, Grog Grotta 4eva), just the imagination on display in general... that's what makes theme parks special. BUT, if you remove all the classic rides relevant to that theming you lose a lot of the genuineness.

fast passes at theme parks are always worth it imo but i also hate lines and people. Ceder Point is an amusement park, not a theme park, just fyi. At *theme parks*, I feel two ways about fast passes. I prefer to be smart about ride lines and occasionally brave them for the queue experience which especially for newer rides is a huge part of the experience. Plus, I'm not paying for a Universal fast pass, just go at opening on any day even slightly off season, go straight for the big rides and you're golden. Real talk: I walked into Harry Potter having not cared about the franchise for like a decade and walked out having spent $150 and pretty enamored. It's really quite something.

I know there's literally everyone to choose from but I'm surprised I'm the first to choose Marvin Gaye.

If Joy Division was playing I'd bet Hooky would make sure it was announced 10 months in advance

Ok I switched out the Smiths for the Beatles, but w/e. Neither mean as much to British music as Daniel Dumile.

I swapped NIN who really didn't need to be on that list for Bowie, good call. Just realized that NIN played a Bowie song last night. This is what Trent would have wanted.
