I thought Mitski was fine, but Japanese Breakfast was the real headliner last night. Fantastic set. Lucy, Mag Bay and Cupcakke were also awesome.

Would I like cate la bon? Trying to figure out if I wanna stay past Earl today. I’ve never cared for toro y moi and while I would like to see Jimmy Fallon’s Band I’m sensing a long week of work bullshit ahead Cate Le Bon is awesome. Her new album is for sure top 10 of 2022 so far. But Toro y Moi into The Roots is going to be extremely fun. If you're there already, you might as well just bring a blanket to sit on, get a paloma, and have a good time.

Lucy, Mag Bay and Cupcakke were also awesome. the venn diagrams of concertgoer's and my musical tastes apparently have no overlap whatsoever.

I enjoyed the Mitski set and the folks around me were really into it too. Hadn’t seen her since the Puberty 2 tour, though.

The sound was an issue for Mitski...when we were up front, it sounded weak...moved back into the nosebleeds to meet up with some friends later on and it sounded a lot better. I kind if wonder if what I perceived as weak sound during The National was the same issue.

The Armed felt a little like watching a workout video, like a Sweatin’ to the Hardcore or something. been almost 24 hours and I’m still thinking about it. K said “looks like what I saw on the warped tour in 2007” which seems also correct

Mixing things up and doing a different hat at the fest today...if you've been prone to identifying me by the same hat I've worn to festivals for 6 years, please adjust your expectations accordingly.

That reminds me of the time I saw Deafheaven up close and couldn't hear the vocals over the music but everyone at camp heard them just fine

It's wild how much sicker National Information Society is as an 8 piece, extremely sick set.

1. Spiritualized 2. Toro Y Moi 3. Erika de Casier 4. Lucy Dacus 5. The National
HM: Ethel Cain, Japanese Breakfast, The Armed, L’Rain
All in all a great weekend. Glad I finally got to see Spiritualized and it fully lived up to the hype for me. I’m glad I can fully stop paying attention to Iceage as I have found I do not like them in any format. Also it was nice to see so many of you! I had a really nice time. Unfortunately I now have to shove my extremely swollen feet into dress shoes for the day.

1. Erika 2. Spirit of the Beehive 2. The National 3. Toro y Moi 4. Earl
Went into this not knowing a lot of the bands and was pleasantly surprised, my top two above I had never listened to before but both blew me away. Guess I'm an old man now.
This fest not having coffee available to non-VIP patrons is still bonkers to me.

1. The Armed aftershow 2. Amber Mark 3. The Armed fest set 4. Sofia Kourtesis 5. The National
I at least got to hear one song I love by Spiritualized before I went over to Amber Mark at least. L'Rain and Erika de Casier were the two surprises for me, I had listened to both before but they were both better than I expected.
Wish that Detroit pizza place had a location around us. All I could find is they used to be based in Miami Beach, but they must just go around to fests now or something.

Was half of the Roots set seriously covers like it says on setlist.fm? That would have driven me out of my mind if I went to that.

1. The National 2. Japanese Breakfast 3. Sofia Kourtesis 4. Indigo De Souza 5. The Linda Linda’s
Friday was one of the best days of music I’ve seen at a fest. Even though the rain made it crummy, it was still my favorite day. Saturday was fun, Japanese Breakfast bringing out Tweedy was awesome. Sofia Kourtesis was the only act I really cared to see on Sunday and she was incredible. Overall, a pretty great weekend at the fork!
