After spending the last two hours wrapping presents (and only making it through my wife and kids) I've come to the conclusion that we may have bought too much shit for the kid. I'm also trying to decide how much I'd be willing to pay to have somebody else do this. It would be fantastic to just drop off a big pile and come back a few hours later or the next day and pick up wrapped presents.

Well, my flight home from JFK to Pittsburgh just got “delayed” until 10:00am Christmas Day because of fog in PGH. No one on our flight will receive any compensation or lodging assistance, because of this “weather” delay, tho I am told that Delta will provide pillows to anyone who needs to spend Christmas night on JFK’s lovely new, hard-plastic chairs!
I’m lucky enough to be headed to my gf’s family’s place for Christmas Eve dinner, but I look forward to getting up at 6:00am tomorrow morning to do this all again. Ho ho ho.

My sister’s plane just landed in PGH on-time with no weather delays. Very cool and very chill that Delta pushed us to Christmas for this unnavigable crisis and made it so we get no compensation whatsoever! Edit: I feel like at the very least our flight should get like a free drink out of this.

Merry Christmas live from the JFK security line, where I’ve been for the last 30-minutes with probably another 20 to go!

That sucks. Hope you eventually make it out and get a chance to relax for part of the holiday.

My daughter got a strider bike for Christmas - watching her cautiously work her way around a park screaming "I'm riding a bike! With a helmet! All by myself!" has been the best part of the day so far.

My wife got me a nice cast iron pan, and a great Bob's Burgers shirt that says "You All Are Terrible." Got a couple of PS 4 and Switch games otherwise.
Big hit gift for my daughter was a Billie Irish hoodie and a giant box of Twix. My son loved just about every toy we got him, so it was a good day.
Got a Google Nest for my wife and already installed it, trying to connect to it through our apps is a pain though.

just gonna use this thread to say Merry Holidmaskah to you all! I'm far too lazy to write out separate texts for everyone but you're all wonderful people <3

My mother-in-law bought me a shot glass. It’s basically her acknowledgment that she’s okay with the fact I drink? Or she’s screwing with me. Either way I’ll use it tonight.

I have one gift coming from Russia, and the tracking shows that it left Moscow on the 9th. I don't think it's totally outside the window where it might still come, but idk? Thoughts? The package is in the States! I'm honestly shocked.

my brother got me this for christmas in great condition. kind of the holy grail for me since both my brother and i were there in the front row for this show. i couldnt afford it when it came out on the vault back in 2011 and i know he paid way too much.... but it's still amazing. best gift ever.

We exchange books and open our stockings on Christmas Eve. Good way to resist the urge.

For the past few months my wife and I have been preparing our coffee the night before bc the process takes too long in the morning with a toddler running around. It's very annoying to do it the night before when you're exhausted, we don't have the foresight to clean out the basket right after breakfast as we both have to go to work right after.
The espresso machine we have is crap. 60 bucks on Amazon crap. It makes terrible, watered down shots. So I bought her (aka us) a new espresso machine (a Breville) that I'm hoping to have set up tonight so that she sees it when she comes out to start the coffee. Its a really good machine, pretty expensive but we didn't buy gifts for each other last year so it all balances out.
Also, I typically hate the holidays but since the kid was born I've enjoyed them more as he starts to get into it. Plus its always more fun to give, to me. My son will love whatever he gets, but besides the espresso machine I paid some extra attention to my wife bc she's been kicking ass as a mom and deserves to be spoiled.
This is now two holidays in a row that I've handled the main course. I did two lasagnas (regular, red sauce; Alfredo, seafood) for TG and for Xmas eve dinner i grilled a rack of ribs. I'm in charge of breakfast tomorrow too so I've done an egg casserole with sausage and cheese for everyone. Pretty exhausted after all this tho.
Have a great holiday everyone. Twas a rough year but we made it.
