IRT Timbo: That was the biggest crowd I have ever seen at Crossroads. I was also going to mentioned the lighting during Echo. But, I always thought that was a problem with the venue. Very little lights in front of the stage. They changed it up recently, with the bewildering VIP section in front of the stage taking up a large chunk of the area. It made for some awkwardness. Still though, massive crowd for bands I didn't think were that popular in this area.

paul mccartney show was great last night. his voice sounded a little hoarse for the high stuff, moreso than when i saw him at wrigley, but it didnt really detract much and everything else was great. amazing that he can play nonstop for 3 hours at 75. the fireworks during "live and let die" ruled.
loved seeing him do fourfiveseconds. also loved that he played "temporary secretary" which no one ever seemed to know but rules.

I loved the McCartney show. Amazing energy from a 75 year old man. Really love the light show, especially during "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite" Agree about the banter being stale, but I will put up with listening to his stories as long as he wants to tell them. Mrs ten15 got amazing seats in the fan club presale. We were in the 18th row dead center.
Took us 1 hour and 45 minutes to get there, but only 45 to get home.

I saw The Who last night, and while Daltrey shows his age more with every year, I would definitely say it's still a show worth seeing for those who haven't yet but want to. If you have, it's probably not going to outrank any previous show, but it's still a lot of fun. As long as he can nail the centerpiece note in Won't Get Fooled Again and Love Reign O'er Me, every other flub gets a bit of a pass. The setlist is pretty unimpeachable this round, as well, the only ones I didn't care for are Eminence Front and Join Together. They're not phoning it it, and they seem genuinely thrilled to have the audience they do, and get the reaction they did.

Melvins are still the best rock band in the world but I seriously cant remember the last time I was at a Metro show that was even mixed "ok"

Laura Marling there earlier this year sounded a ton better than I thought it would.

Jimmy Eat World put on a great show last night in Tinley, but the crowd sucked and only showed any enthusiasm towards the very end of their set. This was my second time seeing Incubus but first since they've become popular (last time was in '99 opening for Sabbath and Pantera). They were about what I expected, which was pretty meh. We left about 3/4 of the way through their set to beat the crowd, and then got stuck in traffic once we hit the city anyway.
I think I'm done going to shows at Tinley just because of a free lawn voucher. Between the hassle of getting there & back and the ridiculous prices for everything (my brother bought a water for $7.50 last night), it's just not worth it.

Panorama was fun today. Viet Cong was the best I've seen them (even if they've played setlists I've preferred more in the past). Angel Olsen was adorable and her show has really been elevated with her latest album. A Tribe Called Quest were fantastic and apparently this was their last NYC show so I guess I saw a small piece of history? And NIN fucking killed... I was able to walk pretty much up front after Tribe and it was wild. Middle of the set drags and there are a few questionable songs but ultimately the hits killed as much as ever.
They really did a good job with The Lab this year, having it more like a walk-through art gallery with some cool technological art instillations. The last two segments were outstanding though... the second was the 360-degree video dome from last year but with funny beanbag seats now (!!!!!) and a new show that was more "narrative" driven than what I remember last year being. But the standout was the show before that which was borderline cultish. You walk into a room with these hooded figures in black cloaks walk around and lights are flashing. Then it starts to intensify and the cloaked figures rolled around what I can only describe as horizontally rectangular versions of the 2001 monolith. It's super claustrophobic and unnerving, but also super hard to explain so you'll have to take me at my word that it's rad... I did it twice, actually.
Enjoyed doing a single day this year. A good time. Good fest.

Glad NIN killed it. Looks like it was the same setlist as FYF; I know it means a lot to Trent, but that Bowie cover really does suck the life out of the rest of the set. If they switched it out for, say, 'Burn' it would make all the difference.

Yeah, I'd cut Bowie/Great Destroyer/maybe The Lovers since it's kinda weird what with Trent basically just holding a phone or some shit up to the mic. Swap Copy of A and Wish. Move Something I Can Never Have to where Bowie/The Lovers is and put Piggy in its spot (slightly disappointed they decided not to play that past the initial show). Burn would be a good addition, maybe another one of the new songs. Survivalism instead of Great Destroyer, which I thought was kinda bad. So, uneven setlist, but fun nonetheless.
Trent is way out of shape though lol

NOTHING was the best set of the weekend at Underground Music Showcase this past weekend. It's a shame they had to move the main stage area to a spot that was decidedly less convenient, because it clearly impacted crowds.

wicker park fest was a good time.
only saw GBV saturday but they were fun/drunk. huge crowd too (even after all the kids who were on the wrong side of the part ran away to catch doomtree)
brick+mortar, coathangers, and jeff the brotherhood were all great sunday. v sparse crowd all day which was nice.
ended up checking out riot feast yesterday which was better than the menu made me think it would be. cocktails are A+. also ended up going to Estate and Beauty Bar later on because i am an idiot and am now dying. pop punk night at beauty bar was worth it tho

But seriously, what the fuck was Panorama compared to this? Because holy fucking shit. One of the best shows I've ever seen. I'm still shaking. JFC.
Not sure why they cut Hurt. Lights came up right after Head Like a Hole. It definitely wasn't for lack of crowd interest because it was fucking wild, but honestly I didn't need Hurt... Head Like A Hole in that crowd was out of control. The whole show was out of control. I can't, I just can't.
Somewhat Damaged > 1,000,000 was such a wild ass kicking unexpected opening. Whole set was everything. I kinda think Panorama sucked now.
Also, Trent said big tour in 2018.
