This would be fantastic. Seems like development of that land would take way longer than 2029 though which is when the lease is up for the current stadium Nothing preventing them from agreeing to a short term lease extension if need be. |

Sounds like that whole plot of land lacks any infrastructure and the ground would need to be cleaned of any chemicals that have seeped in over the years. Unless the city foots the bill I don't see Reinsdork paying for that.
Also worth noting that Mayor Washington actually tried to offer land around here to the Sox back in the 80s but it fell through because Jerry wanted the city to pay for everything.

Hopefully. There's a reason the land has been vacant for this long, though. Same thing is playing out in Denver and the city is trying to lean on the developer or anyone willing to build on the land to clean up/build out infrastructure. It's more expensive than you'd think.

Took the family to the Rockies fan fest today. $40 all in for 4 people with autographs and plenty of kid-friendly activities available. They barely ever field a competitive team but Rockies always have cheap tickets abailable and try to get players out in front of the fans.
Kids got their faces painted and autographs on some novelty bats from Kyle Freeland and a couple of rookies. Plus they met Dinger and an arguably better mascot from their Spokane affiliate.
Adults waiting in line for autographs is weird.

I mean there's 17 images included in the renderings. I think most people are commenting on the more detailed versions that show the ballpark and the unrealistic possibility that Luis Robert is still on the team at the time this gets built.  |

I bought a ticket to see Red Sox/Giants at Fenway in late April. First time at Fenway since I saw Pedro and Clemens face off over 20 years ago, so I'm pretty psyched.

Oh shit we’re going in late April, too, but meeting friends up there for the Cubs series. Also catching Waxahatchee at Orpheum Theatre the same weekend. Will be my first visit to Fenway. Tickets were fukken pricey. |

I think MLB's new see-through pants have potential for new demographic engagement i think that's countered by the sizing issues where robbie ray and walker buehler, among others, won't have super tight pants anymore. but, really, they've got to do something about that. even the old good pants busted sometimes on hard slides. i can't fathom these thin pants being better. |
