Taking my Mom to Cubs Opening Day for the 3rd year in a row. Sitting in the 300s this time. Hoping for temps north of 50!

The Sox released their promotional schedule and I got moderately excited for Illini night and DePaul night until I saw the lazy merch that comes with the offer. This team hates its fans:

Maybe they just hate graduates of those two schools.

Speaking of terrible merch. This is the VIP package the Red Sox are offering for Star Wars Night:

Cease to the Padres. Haven’t seen the return yet except “multiple notable prospects”

Padres losing NL-Blake Snell and gaining AL-Blake Snell.
Not a bad return. Just bullshit they had to go this route in the first place.

One of these days the entire White Sox roster will be able to be traced back to the Jose Quintana ancestry tree

Speculation already that his interpreter is taking the fall because maybe Ohtani has a Jordan-sized gambling problem.

Fuuuuuck this seems really bad. I mean, I wanted some comeuppance for US sports leagues getting in bed so deep with gambling, but…. not like this, man.

Between the gap between the story breaking and the press conference and this tweet I am now leaning towards this along with the interpreter stealing from him. Fun times! Season starts in 2 days!

It's unbelievable how much money Boras left on the table for his clients this off-season. Seems like teams have been wise to his routine for years now, it might be time to change the playbook.

how many rows back in wrigley's 200 level are you safe from rain under the overhang? i'm planning to go sunday but going back and forth on seats and that may be the deciding point due to forecast.

The entire 200 level is covered. If you are talking about the upper deck, then I would say it depends on the wind. But every row you get higher than 5 in the 300 level becomes safer with the entire 400 level being covered. Edit: The corner 200's are not covered, but you're safe in anything 206-229. The poles start at row 6.

i went to the dodgers/cubs games on saturday and sunday.
saturday was beautiful weather, though a little chilly. you could've thought the game ended after ohtani's strikeout in the top of the 9th considering how many people immediately stood up and gathered their things to leave as he headed back to the dugout. also, $8.50 for a sprite is crazy.
sunday was brutal with rain starting early on and getting pretty heavy in the 3rd. umps badly wanted to get 4 1/2 innings done, but taking breaks between every few outs to work on the ponds forming in dirt didn't help. weirdly, they barely touched the baselines between home/1st and 3rd/home. the friend i went with is new to chicago from LA and remarked it was the first time he's ever experienced a rain delay. we left about a half-hour into the delay.

Fuuuuuuck. I’m sorry, y’all.
Just lost Bieber for the season this week and that’s a gut punch I wouldn’t wish on any fanbase. Hopefully it’s better than it looked.
