screensaver-like psychedelics on the sphere, they look like they've been fairly...controlled for the most part. the landscape for back on the train was gorgeous too, reminiscent of Streets during the U2 show
this wolfman's jam lost me for a minute but it got me back

ayyy they kind of did the shapeshifting thing with the visuals during carini, slightly similar (albeit less impressive) than what U2 did with the fly

surprised in a good way? bad way? seemed like a good set to me. i really like that life saving gun song.
gotta be real, slightly disappointed with the visuals on the whole, maybe my expectations are way way too high
speaking of way way too high it looks like set 2 is about to start so smoke 'em if you got 'em

The visuals look really bad which is less of a critique of Phish and more a reality that for this kinda thing to work you have to invest millions of dollars and time into it, which isn't going to work obviously if you are just doing four shows. Clips I watched sounded good tho.

i think some of the more animated-screensaver-y stuff looks bad. visuals during both maze and life saving gun eventually turned into "slot machine" style slow-scrolls in a ribbon up the sphere, which doesn't look bad once or twice but is a huge letdown when they make it look like its all the thing can do.
the static imagery is cool but whatever, its a big screen at that point.
i want them to make a bunch of people throw up!!!

I read way too many articles about how this was going to blow minds but even if I hadn't I'd say that was a meh first set and the visuals are boring. I still love Phish though!

Oh shit I didn't know there was a live stream thread. 1st set sounded fantastic. I thought the visualization for Carini was by far the best one.
My friends at the show said it is very overwhelming in person so it's probably for the best they didn't go nuts with the screens.

I think it picked up a lot in the back half of the second set both in terms of music and visuals. "Lifeboy" and "Farmhouse" were surprisingly emotional, especially the latter when I realized holy shit we're gonna see the Northern Lights . The effect during "Antelope" was very cool as well. |

welp, im disappointed to have bought the objectively least-visually-impressive stream of the sphere shows. i can't believe what they were running on that thing on thursday night compared to the rest of the weekend....shit looked absolutely bonkers and completely blew U2's stuff out of the water. just nutso cool.
3 months til my first shows!
