I’m good for a stream or two per tour I think, when I hit a bet or something and find $30 burning a hole in my pocket. I would guess this will be the last Phish festival so I’m gonna bite the bullet and watch it. Just curious what makes you say it'll be the last Phish festival? Are there signs the band is winding down in general? I'm new to this all, haven't kept up I mean, I'm not much older, so take anything I say with a grain of salt. They haven't planned one in 9 years so I somewhat saw this as "one last shebang" instead of going out on Curveball which got cancelled the day before. Their touring plans / routines have gotten and will only continue to get stricter as they age. Just a guess.

It's absolutely not the last one. They'll keep happening every few years until they call it quits.

Just curious why you would predict that they'll keep happening every few years when one hasn't happened in 9?

Just curious why you would predict that they'll keep happening every few years when one hasn't happened in 9? Since the reunion, they were scheduled in 2009, 2011, 2015, and 2018. Obviously couldn't happen in 2020-2021, and there were rumors that they were trying to make Watkins Glen happen again in 2022 but it was too risky with logistics/permitting. It's not like Phish festivals are a super rare thing when the band is active, and there's zero indication that they're slowing down from their ~50 shows a year schedule. EDIT: Just remembered that the 7 shows at MSG last August were thrown together because they couldn't pull off a festival that summer either.

That is the happiest I've ever been to be off the mark. Thanks! I also had it in my head for some reason that Curveball was 2015; I didn't realize it was 2018.
PS you can stream The Bunny via Live Phish!

thoughts from the couch office
-Moma Dance felt like a nice warmup -Solid BoTT, but man that Wolfman's jam was where things really took off for me. I was a little floored when Trey brought the jam back around to Wolfman's to close out the song -I can take or leave Funky Bitch but the stream cam was on Page pretty much the whole time - hell yeah -NICU rules, one of my favorites, I just wish they jammed it out -Wave of Hope killed some momentum for me, they were trying to get deep into that jam and it was not quite hitting for me, also just not a huge fan of the song in general -Sand was a dope first set closer and Trey's high-pitched echoes are such ear candy
Was distracted through the first half of WGTYM to open the second set and never really latched on to the long jam. Chalk Dust ruled so so much, but then I got busy with my show and had to can the stream for the night. I will watch the rest of set two tomorrow. It looks like it was awesome....encore Saw it Again > Possum > Slave? Fuck it up
rocking along to the bunny again now while i sit through a load out. i am trying to be very "at mondegreen" and it is fun / air-conditioned

Light in S2 went to a really cool, vaguely evil place. And the crowd went apeshit for the surprise Crosseyed drop near the end. Very fun night, def in the top 3-4 Phish shows I’ve seen. In the fest grounds now, they’re blasting the new Waxahatchee record through the speaker pre-show

thoughts from the couch
-Bouncing Around the Room once again feeling like a bit of a warmup to me -KDF does nothing for me but I can feel them getting hotter -FREE! Free makes me so happy, and I am happy with this Free -Serviceable Divided Sky -Not a huge Tube fan but liked where it went -Mountains in the Mist tapering off any momentum built by Tube; will be happy to see where we go from here -Reba / Twist to end the first set has me in a good mood but also sort of....waiting for something to happen. -Did not see Zero coming!!

Once again pretty similar first set thoughts . Felt like a collection of rockers whereas last night was a dance party. Tube was the easy highlight, tho hearing Peaches was a welcome surprise. Lights during Zero were a mindfuck. And I’ve never seen so many people bathroom break a song as for Mountains. Very composed set, kinda mid in the scheme of things, but hopefully a warmup for a deep S2. Calling Wilson to start then some kinda jam piece. Vibes were off in my section so we’re off to find greener pastures. Godspeed!

Second set continues weird vibes for me. MFMF does an alright job kicking it off, but between NMINML / Ruby Waves / Pillow Jets I feel like I'm fading. Set needs a shot in the arm.
edit: i've been fluffhead'd
edit 2: Ghost > No Men Reprise > Fluffhead worked...that shit was cool
Very welcome Harry Hood encore, the whole last hour of this show has delivered
I think all in all I preferred last night's rockier vibe, but of course Mondegreen is a marathon and not a sprint.

Gotta say - that was my fave set of the weekend so far. EVIL PHISH EVIL PHISH EVIL PHISH!
So many cool dissonant moments and great peaks. Also so many YPC samples but w/e. Fluffhead felt like being shot out of a cannon.
And secret set tonight! Intel says 12:30 but hopefully earlier lol

incredible abstract jam (?) here; mondegreen goes north-woods, i am disarmed, passenger of this set

the projection curtains are very cool and would dismantle me if i were watching them pulse in person.
i am not 100% sure that an acid-visual "jam" is pushing the envelope for phish but i am also not tuning out yet
