What does Arbee think of this lineup? I think he used the word 'dumpster' to describe it.

Post Malone is really big among the kids. He's #3 on the Spotify top 500 artists above both Eminem and Beyonce I saw him at Voodoo. Huge stupid crowd. And it may be the oldster in me, but he really sucked.

So I have decided I'm selling my tickets. I honestly think this would be a fun lineup but 90% of the acts I'd see tour constantly or are all but guaranteed to tour in 2018. Jean-Michael Jarre, Jamiroquai, X Japan, and Otoboke Beaver are the 'gets' in my eyes but they aren't worth me traveling for. David Byrne is awesome but he'll be around - hell, fingers crossed The National nabbed him for Homecoming.
In April I'll most definitely be jealous of all those going, real FOMO. But it really just isn't worth it.

It's pretty funny and a little sad that Haim is the closest thing the only "rock" band in the top six.

Glad that's out of the way. Looking to lots of tours (and Chicago shows) being announced over the next couple of weeks. I'm curious if Jamiroquai will be a one off or if they'll do other US dates. Maybe hit NYC and Chicago in between Coachella weekends? Heard them on XRT the other day and thought it was weird. Fingers crossed.

For the $1000+ this weekend costs, I don't think this lineup sells me. The week after is The National Homecoming, which will be way way cheaper and should be a cool lineup. Won't be the same, but I don't see enough unique and interesting stuff on this Coachella lineup to get me out there this year.

Well, the people who have been clamoring for Jamiroquai year after year finally got their wish.

They’re big with the flower crown youths. Source: am close to several flower crown youths who keep telling me to listen to LANY.

have seen:

You haven't seen Abel?
and yeah of your 15 I've only seen 3. This lineup isn't the greatest but the fact that I haven't seen so many of these artists is really going a long way for me.

the 5 minutes last year surely doesnt count, does it? otherwise it's been a passing viewing at previous coachellas or lollas but definitely not trapper keeper status and i saw Byrne with Annie at 80/35 but it was mostly that one collab album and then a few TH hits and a few StV hits

Looking at Friday I think one of the #rare acts like Soulwax or JMF makes sense as counter-programming to The Weeknd.

Well, the people who have been clamoring for Jamiroquai year after year finally got their wish. Sucks. I'd pay maybe half of what it costs to do Coachella to see them. Come on D4N...

Yeah they're good but I don't understand why people are clamoring for them. Best discovery so far has been Snail Mail. Thanks again for the playlist, Wretched.

Sonora must be coming back with all of those lower line rock acts. and then it turns out there's a bunch of foreign rock/punk/metal acts i'm not familiar with that all sound great. so maybe the Sonora is staying this year and they're just digging really deep

Anyone who's going to this who didn't see X Japan at Lolla 2010 is in for a treat.
edit: Surprised at no Judas Priest. That seemed like a very Paul Tollett booking.

My big four would be Bey, Soulwax, David Byrne, and X Japan. My coworker offered me her extra ticket at face value but I think I'm deciding against it. Leaning towards the National festival, I'd only have to take one day off work for that and maybe even no days

I threw my pair on StubHub but if any boarder wanted them for face they'd of course get first dibs.

Really looking forward to Couchella. David Byrne anywhere in Chicago plz. it's not going to happen, but if anyone can get the talking heads back together, it'd be riotfest.
