I was emotionally invested in Blake the prospect because the scouting reports and the swing were always so good.

Fair enough. Dude is just 20, so I'll become more concerned if the power drought drags into next year. He's not going to be close to a call up until late 2019 or 2020 at this point, anyway.

Moncada is amazing.

He certainly seems to be figuring it out.
Did the White Sox really just sweep the Astros?

This NL Central race is going to be great. Cubs and Cardinals have much easier schedules remaining compared to Pittsburgh and Milwaukee. A lot of division games to be played.

That Sox/'Stros series was so much fun.

Lopez looked great. Came back after that initial HR to strand two baserunners. Figured the Sox wouldn't have anything beyond a 2 game winning streak for the rest of the season, but here they are at 4.
Orioles are apparently interested in Gonzalez and Holland. This team is going to look a lot different in two weeks.

Bryce Harper just had what looked like a season ending injury...

No tears. Just a bad bone bruise, not even a break? That's pretty unbelievable.

Hopefully he's back for the playoffs. That team is super fun.

can't stand watching these Cubs/Giants game with the Giants announcers why? duane and mike are generally a great broadcast team. i don't remember why exactly now. banter felt repetitive/boring was the main thing that i can remember

Stanton refuses to stop hitting dingers. Him chasing 61 would be great for the sport, even if the balls are juiced.

Only guy to really come close to 61 without PEDs was Ryan Howard in 2006. He had 56 homers with 21 games left and finished with 58. Nobody pitched to him in those last 21 games though. Still hit .328/.540/.507 the rest of the way but 28 walks (14 intentional) in those last 21 games

Star Wars Night is apparently a big seller! Never thought I'd have to pay $25 to sit in the upper deck at a Sox game in 2017, but here we are.

There's that bobblehead giveaway, too. Folks show up for that shit for some reason.
We're actually going to be there that night for a friend's birthday.

Fun fact: Javy Baez only has 8 non-intentional walks this season.

It's going to be a completely demoralizing path to the first pick if the Sox can't find someone in that bullpen who can close out the ninth.

Robertson and Kahnle have been a godsend for the Yankees since the rest of the team has completely gone in the tank. Chapman has been so hittable lately that I was happy to see Robbie come in for the 9th yesterday.

I think they'll end up getting the first pick regardless, but losing games in the ninth after a strong effort from Rodon or anyone else for that matter is going to be rough way of getting there. It's a shame Burdi went down, because this would be a great opportunity for him to go through growing pains at the MLB level.

Yeah unfortunately this is just the beginning of this. Personally I think the most unfortunate part of all of this is the young guys like Moncada that are going to lose all these games. Its got to get frustrating and I hope it doesn't affect them enough to limit their ceiling

Speaking of Moncada - dude is never going to see a fastball again until he learns how to square up an off-speed pitch.

But he also doesn't seem to mind taking walks, so eh? For now at least.

Yeah he was doing great up until that KC series. Hasn't taken a walk in the last 20 ABs and only has two hits. Plus 12 ks in that timeframe.

On the plus side, Jimenez and Collins homered in their AA debuts last night.
