I hadn't realized before this weekend that the Giants resigned Sandoval. Yeesh.

Dylan Covey's line for the Sox at the moment: 5 IP, 1H, 4R, 4ER, 4BB, 1k
And the one hit was a grand slam in the first.

Sox/Cubs are back to playing 6 games next season. One series in May, the other in September.

Yeah them playing the second to last weekend of the year could be exciting. Sure would be this year.

I bet he ends up calling more games than expected. He was only supposed to call road games this year, but he's been popping up on home telecasts more frequently. We'll see, I guess.

Sox/Cubs are back to playing 6 games next season. It only happens 1 out 3 seasons when the AL and NL Central line up in interleague.play

I don't know why I'm watching right now, they're going to break the A's record, and I'm going to hate it.

i got an email from the cubs saying you can now register for the opportunity to get postseason tickets.......and you have to put down a $50 refundable deposit to do so. that is some wack shit.

It is getting annoying how these Chicago Sports teams are gouging their fans. Sure its a refundable deposit, but its just outrageous in the first place.
The fact that the Cubs vs. Cardinals series this weekend is not sold out is a result of the overpricing. I get its a business, but they're starting to take advantage of their fans.

Meh. That doesn't bother me.
If I wanted to be bothered by something it would be the $100/seat deposit to get on the Hawks or the Bears season ticket holder wait list.

I'm OK with it because it'll cut down on multiple entries. I'll lend the Cubs money if it means a better shot at tix

That's my point. This deposit thing is the new norm.

I don't see a problem with requiring a deposit, particularly if it is refundable. Seems like a good way to keep people from trying to game the system.

Moncada all of a sudden has 9 hits in his last 17 at-bats. Good to see him start to hit. Tim Anderson, too.
It's going to be fun watching Moncada play a full season next year.

For playoff tickets I see no downside. Worst case you get your money back in a few months. Season ticket waiting lists I see as a different beast though. The Hawks list is insanely long and it could be 10 or more years before you get to cash in that $100/seat deposit. I assume it is the same for the Bears.

Does the deposit go toward the tickets or would it be a fee in addition to the tickets? The latter would be stupid.

Honestly if you looked at just the batting stats of this team, you'd assume they were a pretty good team.

Glad I turned on the last few innings of the Sox game last night. Such an incredible way to end the game. One of the bright spots of a rebuild is playing spoiler, and the Sox effectively eliminated KC with one of the more exciting double plays I've seen in years.

Glad to see Moncada has turned a corner. The progress of Giolito and Lopez is very encouraging as well.

White Sox shut down Giolito and Shields* for the remainder of the season. I admire their dedication to grabbing a top 3 pick.
*Shields has actually been good since changing his delivery.
