Baez would have to be in the deal for sure

I don't think he moves just for the fact that they only have one SS then basically

I just can't see enough interesting left on the farm otherwise. It would be tough to see them parting with Baez or Schwarber but Almora isn't that appealing.

I could see the Cubs going after Fulmer if they trade Schwarber and take back a bad contract (V-Mart).

But yeah no way in hell is Almora enough to snag Gray. Especially now that the Yankees are in huge need of an SP with Pineda going down. Astros still might make a move, too.

I was thinking more of an Almora + Candelario + someone else package

I get that. Almora is still the centerpiece, and I don't think that's enough.

The A's aren't giving up Sonny Gray for guys like Almora and Candelario. Baez or Schwarber would have to be in the deal, otherwise they could get a far better offer from the Yankees/Astros.

Baseball folks on Twitter are saying Frazier to the Red Sox may be finalized by the end of the weekend.

Nats get Doolittle and Madson from the A's. So much for that Robertson trade.

Well that was certainly a nice opening for Q. Welcome start of the half.

I honestly think that the Nationals are super hesitant to deal with the White Sox after the blowback they received regarding the Eaton trade.

The Lerners were supposedly hesitant to add to their payroll, which was (supposedly) a hangup in the original Robertson trade. After taking on the Doolittle/Madson contracts, I don't think they would be willing to take on Roberston's deal as well. I can't see the White Sox eating more than a small part of that contract to facilitate a trade. I think we're going to need to find another dance partner.

Nightengale is supposedly close to the White Sox, right?
He has the Red Sox giving up Groome and Chavis if they want Robertson and Frazier - that's the #2 and #9 prospects from the Red Sox. Seems steep.
He also has the Yankees giving up Miguel Andujar for Robertson plus money. I don't think Andujar is highly touted, but he could start at 3B immediately for the Sox.

Frazier is doing handshakes and hugs in the clubhouse according to Phil Rogers, sounds like he's gone.

Sounds like it's going to be Boston. If that's indeed the return, that's a nice package for two guys who weren't supposed to get that much back.

I question why the NYY needed to do this deal but it seems fine. Rutherford is looking kind of eh a year in and Clarkin is a guy that's rule v eligible who they didn't have room for. Good players but expendable.

Rest of baseball still impressed with Rutherford.
Facts: "eh"

A lot of scouts loved him out of HS, but he's a corner OF who's OPS-ing 730 at low class A as a 20 year old. I mean, I guess I can go eh+?
