rutherford is a very good prospect but a ways off. the shine has sort of come off clarkin a bit - he was highly touted but has not pitched up to his draft position at any level (and he's been hurt a bunch). tito polo is a fourth outfielder type prospect (i've heard melky cabrera at best).
i don't love dealing rutherford, but the return is decent. i guess i would have tried to use rutherford to get a sonny gray, but the A's were demanding gleybar and clint frazier for him.
fwiw, miguel andujar was never considered a great prospect historically, but seems to have figured something out last season. he's a pretty highly regarded prospect at this point (tho not as highly regarded as rutherford) and he's basically major league ready.

I thought Hahn did as well as he could packaging that group together.
That will probably be the last major trade for the White Sox before the deadline, anything else at this point would likely just be a salary dump (Melky).

Yeah, Rutherford has a good ceiling and offers needed OF depth. He wouldn't have come over from the Yankees had the Sox not included Kahnle. Hahn has done just about as well as possible in all of these trades.

It's a totally fine deal from both sides. I think the Fangraphs article today nicely summed up the scouting projections on the CHW return. Rutherford has upside, but his stock had taken a hit this year. Unless he kills it these last 2 months I think he'll start next year as a backend top 100 guy once the 2017 draft class gets slotted.

It also sounds like the Padres are asking for an outrageous amount on Hand so that reinforces that there's added value on the Yankees making sure the reliever trade market is expensive for everyone else.

agreed. and more specifically the yankees kept the bosox from getting frazier and robertson, which was rumored for weeks.

That Yankees bullpen is just ridiculous again. Cashman has done such a phenomenal job recently.

it's really good, but it's worth pointing out that both dellin and aroldis have struggled of late. not all that surprising given that both have been overworked the past few years (particularly aroldis last year).

I hope he does well going forward cuz the dude seems cool, but Frazier was pretty disappointing here.

I still have nightmares about Robertson being brought in during non-save situations last season.

I still have nightmares about Robertson being brought in during non-save situations last season. That game in Kansas City Memorial Day weekend killed their season. They were never the same team after that.

Moncada walked in his first White Sox AB. It was pretty exciting.

Does Moncada have enough pull yet to get kids back in the clubhouse? If there is a Yoan Jr I want him to accompany the team on road trips in memory of Drake Laroche

That's awesome. My primary attorney is out this week so I'm totally watching the day games at my desk.

Holy Smoaks are the Jays trash. Still excited to see them at Wrigley and have an overdue weekend in Chicago.

Kershaw out 4-6 weeks. I guess that up the odds for a Darvish trade.

I feel like if the Rangers stay a game or two within .500 they kind of have to keep Darvish.

If they can get Verdugo, there's no chance they're keeping him for an outside chance at a play-in game.

Darvish is a free agent after this year. If they can get a package that's better than a draft pick, they need to trade him.

I agree, but they have some olds on the team and they gave up a ton in the Lucroy deal last year. Unless they get overwhelmed I could see them trying to squeeze one last run out of this group.

Has anyone on here been to Miller Park before? It looks like I might be around there on Sunday, and I'm debating going, depending on price. Stubhub's my best bet for cheap close to the game, right?

Have been but it's been awhile. I do remember it having a huge tailgate scene. Not sure about anything around the park though. And yes Stubhub should be your best bet. Tickets should be cheap unless a really big fan base team is in town and even then...usually isn't expenensive except for when it turns into Wrigley north

Yeah, that all is pretty much what I was expecting. I'd be happy to pick up an SRO though.
I just figured it'd be silly not to check when I'll be less than thirty minutes away.
