I moved up to Milwaukee from Chicago last summer so I've been to the last 2 Cubs series in Milwaukee. This weekend is definitely the most expensive Cubs - Brewers series since I've been here because both teams are in contention. I got on my group's tickets late and we ended up getting upper level for like $80 from Stubhub for Sunday's game. Basically Wrigley prices. Should be a great playoff like atmosphere though. The series opening week was way heavy Cubs fans but I imagine this will be more of a 50/50 split

This is an ugly game. This White Sox team isn't pleasing to watch at this point.

The strike zone has pretty awful so far this series for both teams.

Hopefully all these Lackey HBPs will lead to a fight some point this week.

Nah he's great.
Also always amuses me that the same folks who hate on Hawk loved Ron Santo.

Hawk is frequently the worst (see: recent on-air discussion of hemorrhoids), but he is also sometimes ok. He was so great with Wimpy when I was growing up.

He's dropped off in quality a lot and has a tendency to disappear during telecasts, so I'm happy he's stepping away. But yeah, dude calling games with Wimpy was a staple of my childhood. I'm also completely fine with an unabashed homer calling games and I also completely understand why opposing fans hate that.

I honestly don't get the Hawk hate.
99.9% of announcers are impossibly boring. He's so unique and literally the only guy who can provide firsthand accounts from an amazing era in baseball history. Enjoy it while it lasts.

I personally don't know any Sox fans who dislike him.

I know nothing about him outside of this game, and I have no issue with homer announcers, but calling for violence/retaliation doesn't sit well with me at all.

He wasn't wrong in the point he was making BTW. You can't hit the best player on an opposing team multiple times in one game and not expect one of your own guys to get drilled.
The Cubs have a lot more to lose than the White Sox right now, it does seem pretty stupid on Lacky's part.

That's true, John Lackey is most likely on his farewell tour.

That's true, John Lackey is most likely on his farewell tour. Hopefully by next week...not liking the Verlander rumors though and I don't think they're going for Darvish. A's have said they want a young CF but I don't think Almora is enough in a package as discussed in here before. Would prefer them to get Lucroy and a solid relief pitcher instead

lol
I don't get how the official review process is at all beneficial when they get it wrong this frequently. Either show all angles or have a dedicated official in each ballpark to review any challenges instead of having to send it to NY.

I'm cool with Hawk aside from the racism and constantly referring to players as "The Latins." No bueno.

Sox traded Anthony Swarzak to the Brewers for a minor league OF.

To replace Swarzak, I'd really like to see them just call up some combination of Giolito/Lopez/Fulmer instead of the endless stream of bullpen guys going back and forth to Charlotte. They can piggyback off each other to limit innings.
