I went to a Dodgers game AMA How many Kershaw jerseys were there?

So many.
He was supposed to pitch but left the game with an injury.

To replace Swarzak, I'd really like to see them just call up some combination of Giolito/Lopez/Fulmer instead of the endless stream of bullpen guys going back and forth to Charlotte. They can piggyback off each other to limit innings. This is the most reasonable scenario to bring them up, but I doubt it will happen. Jake Petricka is in rehab right now and should be back up next week. Fulmer should definitely be shifted into relief. Honestly surprised that Lopez hasn't been called up yet.

I am really interested to see what happens with Verlander at the deadline. I kind of feel like they have to put him on waivers in August and dare someone to take him.

If the Royals hadn't gone out to get pitchers from San Diego, I was all for getting Verlander to KC. Not that they could afford him, though.

There's no way that Detroit would trade Verlander to a team in the AL Central.

It wasn't going to happen anyway. Just saying.

No chance anyone claims Verlander with that bloated back loaded contract. It will take the Tigers years to get out from the glut of massive "win-now" contracts they gave out. They should pray Justin Upton opts out when he has the chance.

I'm going to the Sox game on 8/26. Wanted to make a last trip to Chicago before having a kid, so glad it worked out that the Sox were in town. Plus it's Star Wars night, I guess?

dope. love the copy on the sox page for that day:
"Dark Side or Light Side, Tatooine or Endor, Wookie or Stormtrooper...no matter the force you use, or the planet you are from, everyone can head out to the ballpark for some fun in the sun!"
did you buy a ticket through the special link so you can march in the pre-game parade?

I guess that's what I'm questioning. He's not worth $56m the next two years. But I'd be interested to see if Detroit would let him walk for free on a waiver claim.

Last six starts: 36.2 IP, 26 H, 8 ER, 8 BB, 49 K (1.96 ERA, 0.93 WHIP)

that rizzo 3 run double ruled. felt bad for the outfielder that it stuck in the wall instead of bouncing back like he expected.

Nationals just tied the records for consecutive home runs, and home runs in an inning, with four in a row, one out, and then another.

I have no idea how to post Tweets, but the Sox made another trade. Jennings for Casey Gillaspie of the Rays. Apparently he's struggled this year at AAA but did really well last year and is a another top 100 prospect.

I have no idea how to post Tweets you copy and paste the full link to the individual tweet (the link will end with status/"numbers") into your post and the site will know what to do from there
