Speculation...
Ant Man and the Wasp will be entering the Quantum Realm at some point in this movie. It's possible time passes more slowly in that realm by some degree... Or as perceived by those who enter it. Things might be a little different when they come back out.

So Infinity War p2 will most likely be
All the OGs, rocket, antman, wasp, captain marvel, and? Trying to get back all the newcomers

Things might be a little different when they come back out. i think the quantum realm in antman or the binary thing that CM does would be more satisfying to me than time travel in general but then again they'd still have to use "slower time" to retcon the infinity war ending so idk if that's better. part of me wishes this was just the end of the mcu and they were like 'fuck you' because im struggling to figure out what can happen in a4 that i'll actually be happy with on some sort of logical level (i know i know it's a fucking comic book movie)

They haven't really put you off yet. Still, this one set a pretty high bar. Best to lower expectations.

i mean a lot of this has clearly been well thought out and planned ahead of time so im sure everyone involved knows where it's going and it's probably pretty good. i just hate that i cant piece together a decent solution in my mind that would make sense on screen.

I should also suggest... Maybe there isn't a time travel thing, but the Quantum Realm shields them from the fingersnap and the events of that movie are happening simultaneously?
Is it next year yet?!

Hela was boring at best. Fucking fucking time travel.
Star-Lord punching Thanos is 1,000% true to character. He does the essentially same thing to Ego when he finds out the source of his mother's cancer. He loses it when people hurt those he cares about. Doesn't he almost die just going back for the tape from his mom in one? (Also, even Thanos is pretty wiped out by using the power of the gauntlet. Star-Lord is almost ripped apart just using one while being a celestial. I don't think getting the gauntlet off of him is automatically a game over for Thanos. It just would have given them a slightly better chance.) (Also also, it's the exact same thing Tony went through in Civil War with Bucky. Which I'm going to call consistent thematic arcs and not simply laziness.)
Dinklage can act better and I really wonder why he didn't.
I get why his moveset is only so viable for the scenarios set up here, but it was sad to see so little of Captain, especially on a character driven level.
Wondering what the eventual payoff will be of the tinkering Shuri was doing. There was too much invested in that for it to just be 'Didn't finish in time, oh well.'
But, for all of those complaints, I'm amazed just structurally that they pulled off a movie that used 30+ characters from 19 movies and wasn't a completely disjointed mess and somehow having Thanos pretty much live up to the hype. Not to mention some of the best jokes and one liners of the entire series.

I thought Shuri was just trying to remove the stone from Vision without it killing him, in which case she did not do it in time and failed. I didn't see it as 'tinkering.'
I also thought the gauntlet acted as a vehicle for the stones so they did not drain Thanos during use. Kind of like how Strange can use the time stone without burning himself up, compared to Quill bare-handing the stone in GotG1.

Oh, I'm not saying she wasn't doing that, but they just devoted a lot of time to showing and explaining it. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to create a faux Mind Stone to save Vision, or tried to 'backup' his identity.
Yes, but also, it was designed specifically for Thanos. Technically no one else's hands would really fit except for the Hulk's OH MAN JUST FIGURED OUT THE BIG TWIST OF A4

Now that I'm overthinking this entire gauntlet thing: they set precedent with Wong that the magic portals can slice off people's arms. Why didn't Strange just do that to Thanos instead of having Tony and Spidey slowly pull on it?

If I was Dr. Strange that would definitely be my go to move for all issues. Slicing bread, opening doors, everything.

I find Cate Blanchett wicked attractive lately. Ragnarok didn't help things.

Also, I wonder how Netflix will handle the upcoming Marvel shows now that half the world went away...

Have they played a part at all in any of the movies yet other than little continuity things here or there? I've given up on all of the tv series except for agents of shield and even that barely plays in except for when it does full on

I dunno. I think it looks alright. I'm not nearly as excited about the character as I am about Brie Larson, since she's a great actress.

Definitely, it's a very boring character. As far as cosmic characters are concerned, both popular iterations of Cap. Marvel were never that interesting. Outside of the 70s series, and the most recent series, they never lasted long. I think Larson will give some weight to this story, and I'll definitely see it. The main reason to check into it though is for the connection to Thanos. To make Infinity War 2 work, we need to see Thanos in Cap. Marvel.

I think the current iteration has run its course - the Avengers in general. I'm ready for them to move into other franchises and not try to connect them all. A decent Fantastic Four movie would be nice. There's so many stories to tell. That's the great thing about Black Panther, far and away he's the more interesting character during this phase. I love most of the movies b/c I'm a nostalgic nerd for them, but I'm ready for a change.

GotG seemed more barrel scraping than Ms./Captain Marvel. Isn't she supposed to be Superman equivalent in power?
