They couldn't come up with a title better than The Great Circle, huh?

A friend mentioned giving Warzone another go, we used to enjoy it and it's been a while. I had uninstalled a while back so I go to look on the Xbox store what it'd be and this thing is up to 283 GIGABYTES
what even do they not understand how to compress a game?? I'm not wasting that much bandwidth and harddrive space

Bosma was always dead weight when we dropped into Verdansk so if he balks at the storage space that's cool with me.

This is way more surprisingly competent than I thought it'd be

We've actually been looking into doing Pandemic Legacy next, we play the regular game sometimes. I might get that soon You should get it. I can beat the base version without issue but the legacy elements really do ramp up the difficulty. Fair warning that the later months are like Overcooked levels of stress.

Actually did end up getting it this weekend, but we haven't started just yet. We played the base game a few times this weekend instead as a reminder of the regular mechanics and to get some practice so we don't royally screw up the Legacy one

I'm not sure how long it'll last but that Palworld game is fun. I was recently playing Valheim and the survival elements are a little simplified from that and I actually appreciate that, I'm not as big on the hardcore survival stuff. And I like that you can basically make your base self sustaining pretty fast by having your dudes doing things. It is hilarious how much it rips off Pokemon though but I'm glad someone did it because Nintendo doesn't seem to care to make a game like this
It's surprisingly polished for a first release early access thing compared to some other games but the more I've played the more bugs I've ran into and yesterday the game kept just crashing on me which may be a server issue with how popular it is. Also it feels pretty aimless overall so I don't know how long it'll hold me, I could see this being a thing I play a ton for the next week or two then put away and only come back when there's more content. I think a more Pokemon like story structure (more towns with people, something like the gyms of Pokemon, giving you more of a story goal) could really take this thing to the next level
but the core gameplay loop is fun and the Pokemon sort of thing is a really fun hook on top of the survival and crafting stuff stuff. I'm pleasantly surprised.
It's wild how popular this thing is

After playing 2k for about 20 months straight I am now playing through Disco Elysium. Fun game despite it being literally nothing but walking around and talking to people.

Games I've finished in January so far: - Jusant - Cocoon - Luigi's Mansion 3 - Metroid Prime Remastered - Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle I could easily search to see if you've mentioned it but eh.... So how was Cocoon? I've been debating taking the leap. Meanwhile I'm going through the Last of Us 2 remastered and actually found something I missed last time. It's still beautiful but wholly unnecessary. Haven't seen the "lost levels" yet and honestly still not sure I'm aware of what they actually are. Anyway, January was slow but Feb has some intriguing games to look into so I guess I'll focus on Trine 5 and TLOU 2.

So how was Cocoon? I've been debating taking the leap. Take the leap, it’s a fantastic 6-8 hour puzzle game (without a guide). The concept is you solve puzzles using different colored orbs but each orb has its own world of puzzles. By the end of the game, it becomes Inception-like. Cocoon is made by Jeppe Carlsen who also did Inside and Limbo. For those who have Game Pass, it’s on there.

Took a break from slaughtering dogs to play the Silent Hill mini game or whatever. It's interesting. If you're sensitive to...well... Child abuse, neglect, suicide, bullying, etc - you may want to skip it. It def seems like a contained story, I doubt it's connected strongly to the upcoming Silent Hill 2 but still a worthy 2 hour distraction.

I got a PS5 last week and it came with Spider-Man 2. Was a bold decision to make Peter and MJ look a little like shit. Not enough ugly superhero representation.

I see a lot of people thinking Microsoft is going to exit the console business which would be a bummer, little to no competition isn't good for the industry and will probably lead to further consumer unfriendly things.
Solid chance I'd end up just switching to PC gaming (plus whatever Nintendo console)

Now that my son is old enough for video games I was trying to find something we could bond over that wasn't violent. Decided to buy a Switch and get Mario Kart 8. I may have made a huge mistake bc now it's his favorite thing. Also the wife is playing it nonstop while he's at school.
