oh right this isn't a walking dead thread It's one of two Grateful Dead threads. I started one and goodson started this one. I like posting in this one because it's in the fan's lounge and that feels pretty counter culture

Decided to spin Oklahoma City today. 10/19/73 a few years ago i found a soundboard of the 7/5/81 okc show i went to. glad i did since i don't remember all the little nuances from the show (other than i fell asleep during the drum solo).

Anyone have a favorite version of "Cassidy"? I love Moses Sumney's version on that Day of the Dead comp and wanna hear an OG rendition.

I understand that this thread is mostly me talking to myself but I found this neat playlist of like 1800 different dead songs.
Pretty helpful to roll through and save some of the cuts you like, especially if you're just getting into the band

I have gotten through most of their 70s studio output, gonna be moving onto live shows next.
Shakedown Street and Terrapin Station were a bit shocking at first but there’s some real good stuff on there.

What’d you think of Mars Hotel? Big fan of "Unbroken Chain", "Scarlet Begonias" is obviously terrific and I really like the closing track as well. Have y'all listened to the closing of Winterland tho On my list!

Been listening to the first concert I ever went to a lot this week. Kinda cool that I have soundboard quality audio available for it. I thought the setlist was pretty neat at the time but my uncle repeatedly informed me that we had been "blessed from above" by the setlist (As an adult I learned that an old family friend shoved a hefty dose of acid in his mouth when we were making our way through shakedown). I was a little over a week out from turning 16 and it was a totally transformative experience for me. Likely the reason I'm as into music/shows as I am now, and I definitely wouldn't have landed in this lovely place without that experience. Have a little listen, if you feel like : relisten.net/furthur/2011/07/26

Beautiful
I paid the most I've ever paid for a vinyl record on Saturday because it's a copy of Without a Net that's been pressed once in almost 30 years. You can look up how much that was
