My brother is getting married in Nashville next month. I'm coming a little early and will have one night and then another full day to do my own thing. What are absolute must dos? I've never been there.
Looking more for food/drink recos than like, museum stuff, but I'll take whatever.

Hattie B's. Prince's. Just do a hot chicken tour.
The Pharmacy Burger Parlor & Beer Garden is a cool spot, too.

my highlights from a 3 or 4 day trip were that would be accomplishable in one day:
Activity: Country Music Hall of Fame + Studio B Tour
Places to eat: Arnold's 4 lunch Husk 4 burger Rolf & Daughters 4 dinner
Assuming yr staying downtown we had a good time drinking at: Skull's Rainbow Room Robert's Western World supposedly there is a bar immediately next to this one that is all bluegrass that everyone said is great

Prince's was good but its like 2 hours of your day to eat some pretty good fried chicken which seems like a waste 4 one day

Nice, I'm staying at the Renaissance downtown and that's right next to Robert's Western World, I had been looking at that place already.
I don't know if a hot chicken tour the day before a major wedding is a good call haha.

second what everyone else said.
also i went to prince's on friday at noon and got my food in 10 mins so that was nice. it is the best, but i usually do hattie b's since i live two blocks away and you can online order and pick up. they'll just have it on the counter for you you don't have to talk to anyone, just grab it and go, so that's nice.
you can spend a nice night bar hopping around the five points area in east nashville.
bars:
three crow duke's red door saloon the 5 spot smith and lenz mickey's dino's the family wash the crying wolf vinyl tap
food:
treehouse five points pizza (window that is open to either 1 or 3 depending on the night) burger up butcher and bee pharmacy (as scoots suggested, this place is great. it's kinda famous for being hated on by locals and only tourists go there despite being away from downtown but it's still the best burger i've had in the city, haven't been to husk yet tho) two ten jack (ramen)
outside of that area there is:
adele's (the gulch) monells (germantown, it's family style, you sit with strangers and they bring you basically every breakfast food, you don't order anything off the menu they just bring it all and you pass it around, like $16/person, not bad) biscuit love (good but not worth the hype, usually an hour or so wait, the line is deceptively long tho) merchant's (this is my favorite spot to eat downtown, right on broadway) cochon butcher (germantown, famous nola spot that came to nashville as well, highly recommend) urban grub (12 south, this is my favorite restaurant in nashville, seafood and meat. kinda pricey, it was $120 for two people when i went so not tooo bad) desano (midtown, best pizza in the city by far) peg leg porker (the gulch, best bqq, their ribs are dry rub only) hops and craft (the gulch, just a good bar) yazoo, jackalope, and tennessee breworks are some of the biggest breweries in the area, all in the gulch, haven't been to any of them unfortunately. all close to third man records if you wanna check that out.
so yeah, let me know if you have more questions or want to meet up for a drink

Thank you, that's quite the list.
I'll let you know about a drink but it's likely that I'm going to be with family most of the time.

I really didn't like the Pharmacy burger I had. Really love Gabby's Burgers and Fries though, been there twice.

You had me til "mayonnaise" my biggest issue with this is that it seems to be more bread than burger

Even w/o looking at the calories that burger sounds pretty bad.
There's a spot in Denver (it may have closed recently) that makes/made a breakfast burrito with a dozen eggs and several pounds of other ingredients. That type of thing doesn't sound remotely intriguing to me.

Haha randomly, I've been to Vortex twice too. When I went, I was blown away (like 4-5 years ago), proclaimed it my favorite burger, and returned the following year but I don't know if it would hold up now after traveling more and living in Houston.
They have a menu full of non-gross, non-"coronary bypass" options. It's a super cool place actually.

I'll be honest, I'm really hungry, and that looks more appetizing than it should.
Aside from the mayo.

What's everyone's beefs with mayo? Aren't we all adults here?

my issue with mayo is solely on a "nutritional value to taste" metric
for a dollop of mayo which is at best fine I can eat a dang chocolate bar.

Aren't we all adults here? Past the point of needing to disguise the taste of our food with grease? I agree.

I don't hate mayo, but it's kind of pointless as long as so many delicious versions of mustard are available.

I just think there are plenty of rightful places for mayo. I grew up afraid of it though.
Do you mayo haters also not like fancy "aiolis"?

chipotle aioli is king imo
except for fries, then you get that garlic aioli
