First half of the album is pretty rough, but the 2nd half picks up quite a bit (Notably "Floridays" & "No Plane on Sunday")

Also: "You'll Never Work in Dis Bidness Again" is the spiritual prequel to "Batdance" I didn't know I needed.

"Great Heart" is nice & "Prince of Tides" has its moments, but struggled to get through a few listens of this.

In terms of efforts to conform to a classic 80s sound, “Take Another Road” is not bad.

This record reaches levels of the 80s that I never knew existed.

Through 3 listens I can’t determine whether being a fruitcake is a good thing.
Also: I like to imagine Jens Lenkman heard “Lone Palm” and it was the inspiration point for his career.

Probably my favorite JB album so far, neck and neck with White Sport Coat. Enjoyable tunes and I really felt like I was on an island despite being on a concrete patio overlooking a parking lot. Apparently I get "Cheeseburger in Paradise" and "Fins" confused regularly. Hokey Buffett! Aw yeah, this is my jam. It could have been the beers, but I chilled so hard to this. Incommunicado and The Weather is Here are standouts.

You thought the song “Fins” went “cheeseburger in paradise, heaven on earth with an onion slice, not too particular not too precise, I’m just a cheeseburger in paradise”
And there was still a separate, totally different song, titled Cheeseburger in Paradise?

I listened to them in chronological order, so I hit "Cheeseburger in Paradise" first on Son of A. When I got to Volcano next, and it opened with "Fins," I thought "Wow CiP must not have gotten the recognition he wanted, or maybe Volcano is a compilation?" I didn't realize it was "Fins" until like the second chorus
