Great Saturday afternoon hang with fiveiron83321 and his lady at Other Half Brewing here in Brooklyn. Had some beers, caught up on life, remembered some boarders… good times!

GABF week is upon us. Lack of excitement surrounding the fest itself continues to fascinate me (it used to sell out instantly, and now you can wait out free tickets pretty easily), but the best events are held at breweries in the area anyway. I'll be hitting up Trve, Cerebral and a couple others - this will be fun:

happy guinness opening day! the food menu looks fire. i was thinking they were only having breads/bakery items but i guess it's a full-blown lunch and dinner menu.

Pretty sure it's going to be same setup as the one in Baltimore, in which case the food is pretty solid.

They have a full restaurant at the Baltimore spot and another bar setup where you can just do appetizers. There was also a lot of outdoor drinking spots.

The initial sketches I saw when they announced it earlier this year seemed to suggest that's the type of format they were going for but I admittedly haven't been following closely. The Baltimore Guinness location is incredible.

Not drinking right now but looking forward to checking the joint out when the crowds die down. And I don't even like Guinness!

It was mostly outdoor patios as well as a rooftop area. The outdoor patios were lovely - not something you can really see from the outside.

http://instagram.com/p/Czo348-PCmk In case IG doesn't load properly here: Friends, fans, and family,
We’re here to confirm that we’ve been unable to resolve our differences with our landlord, and are left with no choice but to close our business. The last day our tap room will be open is Sunday, December 17th from 11am to 9pm. We have no current plans to rebuild or revive Metropolitan Brewing in a different location, so if you like our beer -- come load up!
The tap room will be open every day (except for Thanksgiving day) for the usual hours until December 17th. If you have table reservations before then, we’ll honor them, of course. So many people have already reached out offering help, and honestly, the best thing for us right now would be for you to visit the tap room, drink some beer, take to-go beer with you, and take good care ($$) of the team behind the bar. Stock up for the holidays. Grab a case of your favorites. Grab two.
The last 15 years are a treasure trove of memories. We worked hard. We worked as a team. We looked out for each other as we navigated some pretty scary shit. We are grateful for every soul that passed through our doors, both on Ravenswood and on Rockwell. And we are deeply sorry that we couldn’t see our way through this current situation. We tried. For years. But now it’s time to turn toward new adventures.
We truly love and will miss you. Thank you for being the best fans we could ever hope for.
Doug, Tracy, & Team

Bummer about Metropolitan. It’s a shame. Not sure that the landlord pulled one over on them with the lease like they claim, but the taproom was great. Will miss Krankshaft.

Will miss Krankshaft. word on the street was they never hired a lawyer to review their lease, etc. when they got into that new space and decided to handle things themselves. but this brewery closing hurts the most out of all that have happened so far. love their beer. will miss the rotating coffee nitro beer on draft. very curious what takes this space because otherwise that whole area might die a slow death

Tried to buy some BCS from a liquor store near my parent's house and was told I didn't have access to any variants unless I bought the OG version. Not sure if that's just a general policy or if it's specific to that liquor store, but it certainly explained the amount of bottles they still had in stock.
